Salma Hayek, rich guy call off engagement
New mama Salma Hayek is going to stay single, the AP reports, calling off her engagement to rich guy and baby's daddy Francois-Henri Pinault. They announced their engagement in March 2007, and little Valentina Paloma Pinault showed up a few months later.
"We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled," publicist Cari Ross said in a statement. "There will be no further comment."
Pinault is the chief executive officer of the luxury goods company PPR SA, which owns high-end labels such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Puma. Normally we'd say Salma was in it for the money, but the smoking hot actress is rolling in her own cash, so we'll call this her master plan to just have a beautiful kid with all the right connections. Hey, that's how the business world rolls.
