Kevin Costner plans awful 'Bull Durham' sequel
We now know the secret why Kevin Costner has been writing so many baseball songs -- he's resurrecting his beloved Crash Davis for an upcoming sequel to Bull Durham, the New York Post's Page Six says. Say it ain't so, Kev!
A source tells the tabloid that Costner just met with director Ron Shelton in L.A. to discuss going to the well again. Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon are supposed to return, as well, but it seems Nuke and Annie were the ones who lived happily ever after, and bought a Major League baseball team that Crash manages.
Throw on top of that steaming pile the idea of Kristen Kerr as one of the cantankerous catcher's love interests and you will see every baseball fan on the planet simultaneous vomit onto the bleacher bench in front of them. Since the Rays have a working relationship with the Bulls, can't they do anything about this? This is the worst idea since the designated hitter -- remember, Kevin, you're better off being a Sixty Minute Man.

Dances w/wolves, Untouchables, Tin Cup, Fld of Dreams, Waterworld, Postman, Wyatt Earp, were okay-but The guardian, Mr Brooks & Open Range sucked. So I would say his career has just about flamed out. One more pairing with Kutcher wearing a mohawk should just about do it.

Whats wrong, afraid their won't be enough computer generated "action" for you? No Will Smith or Vin Diesel? Give him a break. The guy hasn't even got a script yet and already you are criticizing the movie. Sounds like somebody doesn't like Kevin Costner. Bull Durham was a classic sports film. Who is to say they can't make a halfway decent sequel, especially by today's movie standards? Costner made a couple of bombs at the height of his career and the critics have never forgiven him for it. Waterworld was a box office bomb but watching it today on video is not a bad experience. (OK, The Postman was bad but who hasn't made a few mistakes?) He's made some great movie's since then and yet the critics either ignore them or dismiss them. Open Range, The Guardian, Mr. Brooks were all excellent movies that were panned by most critics and yet would have been praised had they been released when Costner was still "in favor." I'll be the first one to call it out if the movie is poor. However, your headline is terrible and if you want to be a movie critic, maybe you should watch the movie first.

Good. Costner hasn't made or appeared in a really good movie since.....well, I guess he has never made or appeared in a really good movie. Never mind.

Hmm, Maybe a "Waterworld" and "The Postman" sequels will be in the pipe, too! The latter could be "The Postman Rings Twice"! Oh, wait, I think they already used that one...

Kevin has written many many songs and, with Modern West performs them very well, however, just how many baseball songs, other than "It's All Up To You" which he wrote specifically for the Rays, can you name?
Movies, yes, there were 3 1/2, but how many songs?

They should make it in a baseball field that is floating in the water.
