Whitney Houston denies Bobby Brown reunion

We can all breathe easier: Whitney Houston has issued a statement denying the rumors of a reunion with Bobby Brown. Acting on behalf of Houston, the singer's publicist Nancy Seltzer calls speculation that the exes are getting back together "a complete fabrication," the AP reports.

Seltzer pinpoints the rumors to a report in Wednesday's Chicago Sun-Times that said Houston and Brown had been spotted out and about in Georgia looking romantic. Can you believe nothing that you read?

Houston and Brown divorced in April 2007 after 14 years of marriage, and Houston has custody of their teenage daughter, Bobbi Kristina. It's too bad they aren't getting back together, because that would further the signs that the Mayans were right about the world ending in 2012.

Matthew McConaughey defends his surfer pals

In his own, laid-back surfer way, Matthew McConaughey has come to the defense of two surfers accused of attacking a pack of paparazzi who were following Mac for photos at the beach in Malibu last June. Skylar Peak and Philip Hildebrand have pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery after one photog was tossed into the water, while another says his camera got thrown into the drink.

And while Matty says he understands where the guys were coming from, he's really not bothered by persistent shooters, ContactMusic.com says. Seriously, he has to keep up his profile somehow.

"That was just a community thing where they felt like there was a little peace disturbance. When I'm surfing I try not to think about (the photographers)," Mac says. "They are just capturing a picture. I guess if they start getting on rafts and coming out there in the water, then we'd be in a different position."

Peak and Hildebrand are going to be in a different position when their trial stars on Jan. 14. Until then, they have McConaughey's words to keep them warm at night.

Hugh Jackman says he'll quit playing Wolverine

Hugh Jackman may be People's Sexiest Man Alive!, but fanboys recognize him first and foremost as the cinematic face of Wolverine in the X-Men series. But for how long? The Aussie actor has vowed to quit the franchise if his upcoming spin-off X-Men Origins: Wolverine doesn't bring home the bacon. Take that to the bank, bub.

"If it’s clear to us on May second or third that that’s gone, then I'll walk away happily," he told Moviehole.net. "I'm not going to flog something -- or flog a dead horse, or try and make movies that people don't really want to go and see."

But what if the movie does pull in the cash?

"There’s a few storylines that are running my head which I think would be really cool, but unless the script is right, then I just don't see the point in doing it," he says. "I'm probably at the point in my career where I don't need it. And the last thing I want to do is just to push it on people, if it doesn't warrant a full feature movie."

So what he's saying is, he's done playing Wolverine. Jeez, what does he think, that we'll just accept him as an actor in his own right? Wow, what an ego!

Winona Ryder 'loses' $125k in Bulgari jewels

Just a week or so after allegedly overdosing on Xanax during a flight to Europe, M.I.A. 90s mistress Winona Ryder has perhaps returned to her sticky-fingered ways by "misplacing" diamond jewelry worth $125,000, French mag Voici reports. Coincidence?

The report says the actress borrowed a ring and bracelet from Bulgari for Wednesday's Marie Claire party in Madrid, but reported the items missing after supposedly giving them to the hotel's front desk staff to be kept in a safe. Problem is, the staff says they didn't get any jewels.

Bulgari confirmed they had lent the jewels for the party, but wouldn't say if any had gone missing or if Ryder was involved. Voichi did say they've asked Madrid cops to look into the incident before. See what kind of rep shoplifting from Sak's gets you?

Ashley Dupre hires music manager Chris Lighty

Ashley Dupre dreamed of getting into show business before she got sidetracked into becoming former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's favorite high-priced hooker, but those days are over, the New York Post's Page Six says.

The tabloid says Dupre is hoping to jumpstart her music career by hiring manager Chris Lighty. He's the mastermind behind 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliot, so he's used to dealing with troublemakers.

No word on when or why a Dupre musical offering is due, but we're going to start the rumor that albums will cost $2,000 each time you listen to them.

Are Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt legally married?

In the gee-no-kidding moment of the holiday week, questions have arisen over the validity of Heidi Montag's and Spencer Pratt's quickie so-called wedding in Mexico on Nov. 20. You mean these two lovebirds may not be legally married? Wow, good thing we have laws in place to define what a loving marriage should be, huh?

"We had a beautiful ceremony here ... officiated by a minister and photographed by the hotel photographer. We've never been happier," said the couple in a statement provided by Us Weekly. "And, like other elopements that happen outside the country, we'll take care of the legal details when we get home."

They had neither obtained a marriage license nor taken part in a separate civil ceremony, which is required by Mexican law to make the union binding, the AP points out.

A couple can register their marriage up to 10 days after a ceremony, but California does not recognize marriage ceremonies outside the United States, according to the state's Department of Public Health. A couple can petition a court later to have their marriage legally recognized, but these two PR hounds have not specifically said when they would do this, or have a separate ceremony stateside.

We're on the edge of our seats over all this, but then, it's Thanksgiving time, so that's probably what were really excited about.

Aubrey O'Day gets naked for Playboy shoot

Danity Kane may not have wanted Aubrey O'Day, but Hugh Hefner sure seems to. TMZ says the bounced-out blond is taking it all off for Hef's mag.

Sources told the site that the attention-grabber was at a photo studio in Manhattan all day this week shooting a spread. They say photographer Markus Klinko was shooting her (with a camera, of course) posing with lion cubs and everything.

All of this begs the age-old question of what defines a celebrity, though. If it's getting kicked off a reality show and then posing naked to get people to pay attention, we think that changes Andy Warhol's definition of 15 minutes of fame.

Carson Daly expecting a baby with girlfriend

It's last call for Carson Daly's carefree childless days, as People says the 35-year-old late-night host is expecting his first child with girlfriend Siri Pinter.

"Carson is thrilled to be a father and they are looking forward to an extra special Thanksgiving this year with family and friends," his rep Heather Lylis told the mag.

Great ready to see the little babe in the spring. That's quite a way for him to ring in New Year's Eve with Carson Daly this year.

Gordon Ramsay apologizes to wife for affair

Foodie show junkies out there might like to know that Gordon Ramsay is going through a little hell himself lately, grovelling for forgiveness from wife Tana (pictured) over meetings with an outspoken mistress, the Daily Mail writes. Looks like he had plenty cooking in the kitchen.

The paper says the TV chef admitted to hooking up with homewrecker Sarah Symonds four times, even though Symonds says they've been heating things up for seven years. Tana seems to have taken the admission and apology quite well, appearing in public holding hands with Gordon and generally making it look like the couple are still together.

"I'm so sorry I've put Tana through this," a source for the Daily Mirror claims Ramsay said. "I've apologized to her and I feel  absolutely dreadful. She really doesn't deserve all this grief."

the spy says Gordon is pretty angry about the whole thing and calls a lot of Symonds' claims "bulls---." What, like her claims of hour-long phone sex sessions and her ability to identify scars on his body as proof? Really, we just can't picture Ramsay angry about much of anything, especially little deets like that.
