Travis Barker defends lawsuit over jet crash
Travis Barker defends his announced lawsuit against the owner and makers of the Lear jet that crashed on Sept. 19, saying that by letting a plane that wasn't airworthy take off, they've killed his friends and ruined his life.
"I wouldn't have been in the state I was in if I wasn't in the crash," Barker told E! News at a Miss California USA event with Shanna Moakler on Sunday. "I wouldn't have third-degree burns all over my body or be prohibited to do certain things. I can't go swimming. I can't do some of the things that normal people can do. I didn't ask for that to happen."
The suit, filed Friday, said that after "one or more tires failed," leaving debris on the runway, the pilot made a negligent attempt to abort the takeoff." Barker and Thelma Martin Still -- the mother of security guard Charles Still, who died in the crash -- are seeking at least $25,000 in damages. DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldberg, is not involved in the suit.
The papers name jet manufacturer Bombardier Inc., charter companies Clay Lacy Aviation and Global Exec Aviation, and tire maker Goodyear. He may as well have sued Planter's for making the bags of in-flight peanuts.
"If something goes wrong that's not supposed to go wrong or you fall victim of it, I think you should be compensated," Barker says. "... I lost two friends in the accident. Nothing can bring them back or what I lost in the accident."
We can understand the anger, but Travis pretty much says it all himself. What do you think, Juice*heads? Should he sue? Or is surviving that horrible mess enough?

Who cares how many times he went swimming before White Trash??? The point is that he is in the situation he's in because of negligence on someone's part. In a society where you can sue someone else for your own dumb mistakes, why is Travis Barker catching any flack for this? He's obviously not doing it for the money. People died in this accident, which could have been prevented. Now you tell me what you would do in that situation??? I hope he gets a HUGE settlement and does whatever he wants with it. Good for him!

I'd like to ask the guy how many times he went swimming before the accident. Too bad this guy made it off the plane.

This lawsuit shouldn't be because Travis wants money, but rather to hold those responsible accountable. I say sue. And then donate the money to charities that help others who are suffering from terrible accidents.
