Nobody wants to watch the Golden Globes
The Juice* mostly shunned the Golden Globes this year, mostly because the Deal Divas were taking care of fashion and The Feed was handling the behind-the-scenes stuff, but it seem everyone else pretty much hit the snooze button on the whole affair, too, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Ratings in the adult demo for NBC's broadcast were down 26 percent compared to two years ago, averaging a mere 14.6 million viewers for people you don't know getting awards you don't care about. Last year, if you'll remember, Hollywood was so concerned about your feelings that the writers strike whittled the affair down to a chintzy news conference.
Good news for the rich and shameless, though: they still managed to beat Fox's seventh-season premiere of 24, which notched 12.5 million viewers. They got clobbered when Desperate Housewives came on at 9 p.m., though, with the ABC show getting 13.8 million viewers. But why would the stars ever conceivably worry about what the viewers want? That's just crazy talk.
