'High School Musical 4' will have a new cast
Say goodbye to Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, because Disney is giving them the kiss-off for the next High School Musical sequel, bringing an entirely new cast aboard for the fourth iteration, the New York Daily News says. Or maybe they're just graduating high school, we don't know.
"The High School Musical trilogy introduced a new generation to the celebrated genre of movie musicals," Disney Channels Worldwide president of entertainment Gary Marsh said in a statement. "In crafting this next iteration, we've challenged the entire creative team to raise the bar again -- and create something truly worthy of this extraordinary global phenomenon."
The paper says the sequel will move back to TV, unlike HSM3, which opened in theaters to maximize the wallet-sucking effect, but will still be written by previous scribe Peter Barsocchini. Will this mean we will no longer care when nude photos of Vanessa come out, or when Zac changes his hairstyle again? Only time will tell.
