David Caruso's ex-girlfriend sues over alleged emotional abuse

In a case sure to scare off even Horatio Caine, David Caruso's ex-girlfriend has filed a suit against the CSI: Miami star, alleging emotional abuse.

Tbd-davidcaruso041309 E! News quotes the court papers filed by Liza Marquez, which say Caruso "engaged in an ongoing strategy of intimidation, isolation and control ... with the goal of asserting and maintaining power … extending to all areas of her life and work during their relationship."

The documents go on to say that after the pair met on the set of the show and lived together from 2004 to 2007, Caruso informed Marquez she "no longer needed to work, or should work, so that she could be there" for him. More likely, it was so he could keep an eye on her, since it sounds like he tended to fly into jealous rages. The suit claims he accused her of being unfaithful to him with everyone from a guy in a Paris internet cafe and Greg Kinnear to Billy Dee Williams and her own cousin.

The suit, which alleges breach of contract, fraud and breach of good faith along with intentional infliction of emotional distress, also says that after Marquez bore two of Caruso's sons, he questioned whether he was the father, threatened her with violence (although never followed through) and once told her "I guess for now you'll just be a birthing cow." Ouch.

The pair reached a settlement in 2008 giving Liza $1.2 million for civil claims and attorney fees, but she's now alleging she never saw any of that mony. She also says Caruso said he would "bury her" and that she "would see jail time" is she sued him. That explains why she now wants monthly support, punitive and exemplary damages and a house in Sherman Oaks.
