Julianne Hough won't be back on Dancing With the Stars

It's arguable that Dancing With the Stars pro partner Julianne Hough has more star power than the people she's been paired with, so it'll be interesting to see how far the show goes now that she's announced she's not coming back for the ninth season.

"I'm not doing next season," she told Access Hollywood. "I'm gonna take one off." It's been made a whole lot easier by the elimination of her boyfriend and partner Chuck Wicks on Tuesday.

"We definitely went further than anticipated," the 20-year-old Hough said. "I think he could have made it a little bit further. But you know what? It's the name of the game and it's about fan base, and hopefully our country fans will follow us into music."

She plans to spend her time off working on her music, going on tour and cooking up a way to get back on the show for the tenth season.

Jennifer Hudson watches fiance David Otunga wrestle in Dade City

 

If you were in Dade City to watch Florida Championship Wrestling on Wednesday night, you may have caught a glimpse of an out-of-town guest: Jennifer Hudson. The Dreamgirls star was at the National Guard Armory to see her fiance, David Otunga, who wrestles under the name of Dawson Alexander, Esq., which is a whole lot better than his previous nickname, Punk from I Love New York.

Our paparazzo Luis Santana was on the scene and managed to catch a glimpse of Hudson hanging out in the background (wearing a gray hoodie and pink tights, no less), but she soon got wise and left. Otunga was there signing autographs and looking gigantic, though.

Kelly McGillis confirms she's really a lesbian

Kelly McGillis, long known as the object of Tom Cruise's affections in Top Gun, has confirmed the longtime rumors that she is a lesbian, SheWired.com reports. Miss California won't like that.

"I'm done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life. It's a part of being true to yourself. That's been a challenge for me," the 51-year-old said. "I think that was an ongoing process from the time I was about 12. I had a lot of things happened that convinced me that God was punishing me for being gay. That was a hard process.”

For the record, McGillis has been married and divorced twice, and has two teenage daughters. This has got to be the most surprisingly unshocking outing since Jodie Foster came out.

Miss California Carrie Prejean joins campaign against gay marriage

For all of those who didn't give The Juice* enough grief last week about calling out Miss California Carrie Prejean for her stance on gay marriage (she isn't a fan, btw), get your angry emails ready: Prejean announced on Thursday's Today show (watch it above) that she's working with the National Organization for Marriage on a campaign to oppose it further.

"I am just here to protect marriage," the 21-year-old said. "The National Organization for Marriage basically just respects marriages and people who support it. I am here to protect traditional marriage."

But how does she feel about the backlash from that darn liberal media about speaking her mind?

"I never thought in a million years that this would be happening right now," she said. "I was attacked for giving my own opinion on stage. I am going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage," which she adds "is something that is very dear to my heart, and I am just here to protect it. That's all I am here to do."

And just to keep the peace, she throws in an olive branch: "Regardless of our opinions, we need to respect each other, even when we disagree. It's all about respect."

Heidi Montag wants to pose in Playboy

While shooting a music video and dodging swine flu in Mexico, it seems Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt were cooking up a new scheme to spread Heidi's star far and wide. Namely, having her take all her clothes off in Playboy.

Life & Style says Montag is currently in negotiations to pose for the mag: "She wants to do it," a source confirms. "It's just a matter of working out the details." Like, who'd bother seeing her naked, anyway.

But get this; Spencer is apparently encouraging the move, likely so he can leech off her meager fame some more. That, and he wants Hugh Hefner to cough up $500,000 for an appearance. He's sure to jump on that, because if there's one thing Playboy has a shortage of, it's desperate young blonds with fake breasts.

Baby Preacher terrifies The Juice*

We don't want to get into a debate on religion or anything, but this video says it's showing a baby preacher before a congregation. Never mind that the kid can't really talk, or actually believe what may be coming out. No, the real scare is how the congregation fills in the words for themselves. This could be a future professional wrestler, for all we know.

Chris Brown wants his case dismissed; Rihanna gets $1 million in jewelry back

Here's something that makes perfect sense: Chris Brown's attorney Mark Geragos said Wednesday he intends to file a motion to dismiss the case because of police leaks in the investigation, most likely that horrible photo of an apparently battered and bruised Rihanna, People says.

Gee, whatever could the reason be? Could it possibly be that plastering that image all over the country will make it hard for Chris to get a fair shake at trial? Why would a bloody photo of an alleged domestic violence victim sway a juror's opinion?

LA Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg granted a delay in the case, setting a hearing for May 28 (that's a popular date today).

Meanwhile, Rihanna's attorney Donald Etra finally won the right to retrieve $1 million in jewelry she was wearing that night. The jewels had been taken into evidence, which caused a sticky situation, since they were loaners. Would you really want them back after that?

Sean Penn, Robin Wright file for divorce again

Sean Penn and wife Robin Wright Penn are planning to get divorced again after a previous try, Star says. Good to see they're aren't ones to give up.

While this may not be a result of Star's previous note that Sean was seen hugging up on Natalie Portman in March, the mag says they filed for legal separation last Friday.

They had previously filed for divorce in December 2007, but withdrew that in April 2008. This may explain why Sean didn't thank Robin in his Oscar acceptance speech for Milk.

We really can't keep track of Mel Gibson's alleged affairs on his wife Robyn. We thought it was 24-year-old Russian pop singer Oksana Pochepa, but her he is on the red carpet for the premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in Hollywood on Tuesday night with 39-year-old Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva. Well, if you've seen one Russian singer named Oksana, you've seen them all, right? Right?

Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad was at bar with woman

Could it be that Jon & Kate Plus 8's Jon Gosselin has had with his obsessive-compulsive shrew of a wife? Well, that's obvious to anyone who watches the show, but now Us says he may actually be stepping out on her. When will that be on TLC?

The mag says Gosselin leaving a club called Legends Lounge near his home in Wernersville, Pa., at 2 a.m. with another woman. And he (gasp) wasn't wearing his wedding band! The father of 8-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets called his mystery guest "babe" while leaving in his car with her, speeding off as photogs snapped pics.

Where was mom Kate? In Washington state promoting her book Eight Little Faces. Where were the kids? But it's all no big deal, Jon says.

"I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car," he told the mag in an e-mail. "Yes, I have female friends -- but that is all she is. I'm not going to end my friendships just because I'm on TV."

No, but those friendships may wind up ending you. Kate's the woman who yelled at you for breathing on the show once. Wait till she finds out about this.
