Dancing With the Stars' Len Goodman had cancer
Dancing With the Stars judge Len Goodman is recovering from a super-secret surgery for prostate cancer, the Daily Mail reports. Wow, it really has not been a good week to be a celebrity.
Goodman, 65, had kept his March diagnosis under wraps, even from his co-judges, but is doing well now, three weeks after surgery to remove a tumor.
"I have had the surgery now," Goodman said. "Everything is gorgeously good. I will be back in September for sure."
Why did Len, who also is a judge on Britain's Strictly Come Dancing, tell only close family and friends? Because he didn't want to bother everyone else with the news.
"I could have said 'sorry' and not done the show, but the doctors felt I wasn't riddled with it and it wasn't so far advanced that it was a life-or-death scenario," he said. "It takes a few weeks to get everything set up for the operation anyway, so I went ahead and did the show. I had the surgery done as soon as I got back from America."
