Melissa Rycroft engaged after Bachelor blowoff
Jason Mesnick may have changed his mind about marrying Melissa Rycroft after The Bachelor, but that didn't stop her. She's engaged to her boyfriend of only a few months, Star reports. Hey, she already had the china pattern picked out and everything.
After Mesnick ditched the contestant earlier this year, Rycroft competed on Dancing With the Stars and is now working for Good Morning America (goodness, what does this say about our culture?). She also hooked up with boyfriend Tye Strickland, whom she told friends at a dinner in Dallas was now her fiance.
"Melissa doesn't want everyone to know yet that she is engaged to Tye because she doesn't want to be judged for getting engaged again so soon after her last fiancé, Jason, broke it off with her last March," a source told Star. "The last thing she wants is people saying that she must be desperate. She's been dating Tye for only a few months but she's known him for years, so she thinks he's solid."
Don't worry, Mel, we'll be sure to judge you for 10 minutes every day, just to make up for those few moments you aren't busy plastering yourself on TV screens in a quest for notoriety.
