'Karate Kid' is now being called 'Kung Fu Kid'

Tbd-willsmith071509 There was this movie starring Will Smith's son Jaden and Jackie Chan that started out as a remake of The Karate Kid, except that karate is Japanese, and seeing as how Jackie Chan is Chinese and the movie was going to be set in China, well, even PC-hating rednecks thought that was kind of dumb. So yeah, they changed the title to Kung Fu Kid. Woot.

The AP reports that shooting began in Beijing over the weekend, with One Night at McCool's director Harald Zwart behind the camera. Wow, this is gonna be soooo good. But wait, if the setting, actors and era are all different, is it really a remake? It's about a kid who learns martial arts; they could've shot this at the local branch of the Y.
