Jenna Bush will be a Today show correspondent

Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager is helping keep the clan in the spotlight, as the Today show announced Monday the party girl will be joining the program as a special contributing correspondent starting Sept. 14, E! reports. Being a two-time bestselling author just isn't enough, we guess. And yes, we're jealous.

"In previous appearances, (Jenna) displayed a natural ability to communicate and connect," executive producer Jim Bell said in a statement. "She has great passion about important subjects, especially education and literacy, and we look forward to having her bring her unique perspective to Today."

The 27-year-old will be based in Washington, D.C., where she will cover human interest pieces. When she's not keeping in the public eye, she'll stay at her job as a reading resource teacher in Baltimore.

Chris Brown tells Larry King he doesn't remember attack on Rihanna

If, for some reason, you care at all about Chris Brown, his career and his life after he was sentenced to five years' probation for punching, choking and biting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in February, he has recorded an interview with Larry King to be broadcast on CNN this Wednesday. It's a good thing he's wearing a little preppie sweater and bow tie, because that will change our opinion of him.

Flanked by mom Joyce Hawkins and attorney Mark Geragos, the performer told King that the entire incident is a blur to him, and it's unbelievable to both he and his mother such a thing could even happen.

"Like, I just look at it, like, wow, like, I'm in shock, because first of all, that's not who I am as a person, and that's not who I pride myself on being, so I just, when I look at, like, the police reports, or I hear about the police reports, I don't know what to think. I just don't know what to think," Brown articulates in a preview for the show.

King then asks him if he remembers the attack, in which he smacked Rihanna's head against the car window, made her mouth fill up with blood and threatened "to beat the s--- out" of her when they got home: “No. I don’t; it’s like, it’s crazy to me, like, I’m like, wow,” he replies.

Wow, Chris. Just ... wow. He must have also forgotten previous reports that he had been violent against the Barbados native, and that he only pleaded guilty after being secured a sweetheart probation deal. Juice*heads, do us all a favor and ignore this interview so this woman-beater goes away.

Columbia Pictures wants to make 'Bad Boys 3'

Hold onto your guayaberas, Miami, because Columbia Pictures is has decided to resurrect Martin Lawrence's career with Bad Boys 3. Wow, we know Michael Bay said he wanted to take a break from Transformers, but really?

Truth be told, the flick is only in the script stages, meaning we could very well end up with Tiny Lister playing Will Smith's Mike Lowery and McG will be directing before all is said and done, but the Hollywood Reporter insists it's true.

Writer Peter Craig is working on a screenplay, and Jerry Bruckheimer may again produce. The plan is to get all the parties back together again, something THR says everyone is willing to do if the money's right and the story is there. Because the Bad Boys franchise was driven by nothing if not story. Now that's how you're sposta' make a mindless summer action flick!

Macaulay Culkin may be the father of Michael Jackson's son Blanket

The gossip-mongers are not yet done picking over the corpse of Michael Jackson, so why wouldn't we entertain the wild notion by U.K's Sun that the biological dad of Prince MIchael II, a.k.a. Blanket, was, in fact, Macaulay Culkin? We wonder if Mila Kunis knew that.

"It is well known Jackson and Macaulay shared a unique bond," an unnamed source said. "Now rumours are spreading like wildfire that Macaulay, who Jackson nicknamed Mack, is actually Blanket's biological dad." 

Gee, it's a good thing the Sun is helping spread those rumors. They say that the 29-year-old Culkin, who spent an awful lot of time at Neverland Ranch in the '90s, donated his seed to the King of Pop when Culkin was 21 so Jackson could carry out his bizarre familial experiment.

"This isn't just chitter-chatter, even Culkin suspects he's Blanket's father. So many names have been mentioned as prospective dads, and this is probably the wackiest yet," the source continued. "But Jackson and Culkin were best friends. He was one of the few people Jackson really trusted and Mack never let him down. Really, Jackson idolized him -- that's why he asked Mack to donate sperm.Deep down, I think he always wished Mack was his son. Creating Blanket was the next best thing."

Martinia Hingis joins 'Strictly Come Dancing' cast

Martina Hingis can't play tennis professionally right now, so why not take up dancing? But Dancing With the Stars has already made its selections for next season; if only there were another poorly conceived reality series that exploited E-list celebrities and let a sedentary population live vicariously through their exploits ... Thank goodness for the BBC!

Hingis is joining the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, the seventh season of the dance competition, set to start Sept. 18. The 28-year-old tennis star is currently serving a two-year ban from tennis for using cocaine.

Joining her are Joe Calzaghe, a retired former world super-middleweight and light-heavyweight champion, Olympic long jumper Jade Johnson, cricketer Phil Tufnell and jump jockey Richard Dunwoody, the AP reports. There are a couple others, but then we start getting into sports stars and soap actors we really don't know.

It's official: Michael Jackson's death was homicide

From the AP: Michael Jackson's death was a homicide caused primarily by the powerful anesthetic propofol and another sedative, the coroner officially announced Friday in a highly anticipated ruling that increases the likelihood of criminal charges against the pop star's personal doctor.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office determined the cause of death was "acute propofol intoxication." Other sedatives contributed to the death, most notably lorazepam, sold under the brand name Ativan. Additional drugs detected in Jackson's system were midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine and ephedrine.

The coroner did not release Jackson's full autopsy report, citing an ongoing security hold at the request of Los Angeles authorities as they continue investigating the case.

The 50-year-old Jackson died June 25 at his rented Los Angeles mansion. Dr. Conrad Murray, the Las Vegas cardiologist who was the pop star's personal physician, told police he gave Jackson propofol that morning after a series of sedatives failed to help Jackson sleep.

Murray has not been identified as a suspect but is the target of what police term a manslaughter investigation.

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt get engaged

The Office's John Krasinski and actress Emily Blunt are going to get married soon, People reports. And, um, yeah, that's about it; neither of these two do anything worth gossiping about -- they're just a nice, low-key, clean-cut couple.

"We can confirm that John and Emily are engaged, Krasinski's rep tells the mag. And there are no more details. We know they've been dating since November 2008, and that he used to date costar Rashida Jones and she was with Michael Buble for three years, but there's nothing else to say.

Let's just say something outlandish, like start the rumor they are going to get married in a diving bell deposited on the moon, while Dwight from The Office tries to make a killing of selling shredded legal documents or something. Nah, that's not working, either.

Mischa Barton says she didn't have nervous breakdown

Mischa Barton has finally spoken out about why she was put on psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai a month ago, but it wasn't because she had a nervous breakdown -- she had just had particularly bad wisdom tooth surgery. We normally don't freak out about dental work until after we get the bill.

"It was a nightmare," the 23-year-old told Time Out New York. "I've never had surgery before -- it all went wrong and I had to have a second surgery and it almost delayed shooting (on The Beautiful Life) because it was a nightmare to me, because I couldn't deal with the thought of not getting there on time. So with the travel and surgery and prep for the show, it was hell."

Of course, ending up in the mental ward is a bit of a bigger delay. She also blames not being able to take painkillers, since they would ruin shooting, and that she was "down in the dumps about everything there for awhile" because oh-so-many things happened at once. It wasn't a "full-on nervous breakdown," she insists.

"But it was pretty bad," she said. "It didn't last that long ... Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom about things and have to get the most stressed out just to feel better again."

Wow, she's really taking this role as a stressed-out model to heart.
