'Twilight' star stinks. Really.

Robert Pattinson says fans -- and potential "lady friends" -- wanting to get a whiff of the Twlight and New Moon star might be in for a surprise.

He smells.

A biological disorder? No. An allergy to deodorant or cologne? Try again. It's because he rarely changes his clothes.

"These jeans are a few days old," Pattinson told UK's New! magazine during an interview, according to a report on Us. "But the top is probably fresh because it gets to the point where even I can't stand the air around me. I don't know, my personal hygiene – it's so disgusting!"

Uh, yeah. We're in consensus on that verdict, Edward! Just because your character is "undead" doesn't get you out of knowing how to work a washer and dryer.

Also, he blames his dysfunctional love life on his movie career.

"Acting ruined my seduction techniques because you start to think everything is a 'method,' " he says.

Personally, we think the stench is what ruins his seduction techniques.

James Cameron's 'Avatar' cost $500 million to make?!?

James Cameron's upcoming sci-fi epic Avatar has a pricetag of about $500 million, according to pieces in the L.A. Times and New York Times. Needless to say -- but that's what we do here -- that makes it the most expensive film ever made.

But it's not like the studio -- 20th Century Fox -- is footing the whole bill. (Because that would make them certifiably crazy and stupid.) Luckily, Cameron got some help along the way:

• Technically, the production budget was a paltry $230 million, the LA Times says. But that number doesn't include Cameron's own financial contributions or the marketing budget.
• A pair of private investors -- Dune Entertainment and Ingenious Media -- are said to be picking up 60 percent of the tab.
• The film picked up $25 million in aid from New Zealand, because much of the digital work was done there.

All for a movie that frankly doesn't have half the buzz of New Moon or even 2012. That's the real sign of the apocalypse.

Avatar is set for release on Dec. 18.

Oh George, just kiss him!

The Italian media -- and of course, the American paparazzi -- just can't get enough of past Sexiest Man Alive  George Clooney. When he arrived at the Venice Film Festival with Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis as his arm candy, tongues began to wag about whether she was THE ONE! Sure she is, like all the others, right George? But then during a screening of his new film, The Men Who Stare at Goats, a fan stripped to his skivvies and said, "I am gay, George. Take me, choose me George, please. May I kiss you, just once?" In true Clooney style, he stayed cool and said, "It's hard when you take a big chance and it doesn't really work." George, we know you're just just channeling what the critics said about your turn in Batman & Robin.

'Twilight's' Robert Pattinson offers his cheeks for charity

Apparently Twilight star Robert Pattinson's reportedly lax hygiene hasn’t dimmed his allure to tween girls. At AmFar’s Cinema Against AIDS event in Cannes on Thursday, he graciously offered up his cheeks to the highest bidder, reports the Associated Press. Two people paid about $28,000 apiece for the pecks on the pale one’s porcelain face. The act of charity was apparently instigated by movie magnate Harvey Weinstein, who joked that his daughters had changed their last name to Pattinson. He then asked Pattinson to step up for charity, according to E! Online. Pattinson, who has previously been a Juice* subject because his on-set colleagues couldn’t take his body odor, wasn’t the only celeb who pulled in big bucks. Former President Bill Clinton offered up his signed alto sax and it pulled in $180,000, according to the AP.

MOST ECLECTIC GUEST LIST EVER? Sharon Stone hosted the 16th annual event late Thursday at the exclusive Hotel du Cap on the French Riviera. Annie Lennox entertained about 800 guests who included Paris Hilton, model Claudia Schiffer, director Terry Gilliam, rapper 50 Cent and scientist James Watson, one of the discoverers of DNA.
