Chris Brown is having trouble selling tickets

Who would have guessed Chris Brown would have trouble selling tickets to his "Fan Appreciation" tour? Well, besides everyone with a pulse, that is?

It seems Chris' show in Hollywood at the smallish Avalon earlier this week was so undersold, scalpers were hawking tickets at less than face value, but no one was biting, the New York Daily News says. They're also quick to note that the show was less than two miles from where he beat Rihanna back in February.

"The Avalon is small and I expected it to sell out the first day, but it didn't. I'm not much of a fan, but I bought these tickets for my girlfriend," some 18-year-old named Danny McElroy told the paper. "I've had trouble selling (them). I'm just trying to get back what I paid for them."

You should have paid zero for 'em, ya nitwit; Then it's easy to get a return on your investment. Brown will be at the House of Blues in Orlando on Dec. 1. We'll be sure to not be there.

Rihanna may have a thing for 90210's Tristan Wilds

We're closing in on a year since Chris Brown savagely attacked Rihanna, so it must be about time to hear if she's ready to date again. Forget the Justin Timberlake rumors; The New York Daily News says she's taken a shine to 90210's Tristan Wilds.

The 20-year-old actor showed up at a party Rihanna was hosting over the weekend at her L.A. home before leaving for London, and guests noted the sparks were immediately noticeable.

"No one knew why Tristan was there initially, because it was not an industry party — it was very intimate," a source says. "But everyone quickly realized they weren't meeting for the first time, because they were openly affectionate for everyone to see."

In fact, the pair met when a music producer introduced them. Wilds starred in The Wire and Jay-Z's Roc Boys video, and is working on an album of his own, which is a prerequisite for young actors these days.

"He's a real gentleman," the source adds. "She likes him a lot, and it shows. From the moment he walked into her party, Rihanna lit up."

The affection is only supposed to get more intense, the source promises: "They're already planning to use iChat and Skype to stay in contact until Tristan finishes shooting 90210 for the season and can fly out to meet her on the road." Good, that'll keep us busy here at The Juice* for a spell.

Chris Brown thinks Rihanna should shut up

Rihanna has had her say on national TV for the last week or so. So now it's poor Chris Brown who gets his turn to spout off. And his message?

His former girlfriend just needs to clam up.

Way to show remorse, Chris.

According to the Sun in the UK, Brown has released a statement through his record company that reads:"While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us."

By "events of February 8," we guess he means beating Rihanna until her face was swollen and bleeding. And by "a private matter," we suppose he's referring to himself, Rihanna and the criminal justice system that sentenced him to six months of community service, a year of counseling and another five years probation. 

Stay classy, Chris.

Rihanna describes Chris Brown attack, says she still loves him

Rihanna's massive interview with Diane Sawyer continued on Friday, with the singer describing Chris Brown's vicious attack in February and saying she saw "no soul in his eyes" as he was choking and biting her.

"There was no person when I looked at him," the 21-year-old singer said in the second installment of the interview, which aired on Good Morning America (watch part of it above). "He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank."

Rihanna described him as "definitely my first big love" and said their relationship was intense: "The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other -- equally as dangerous. It was a bit of an obsession almost."

She said the attack was triggered when she saw a text message on his phone from another woman and confronted him about it. She said he lied about it and "I wouldn't drop it." That's when Brown lost it and began attacking her like an animal.

During the beating, the singer said she had no idea how it would end: "That's all I kept thinking the whole time, 'When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop?'"

The most heartbreaking part is that it's obvious she still loves him, and can't be with him -- by law, since a judge ordered them to stay away from each other as part of his sentence for felony assault.

"I don't hate him at all," she said. "I actually love and care about him and I'm concerned about him doing well. I want him to do well -- have a great career, have a great life, and grow up. Just take this as something that you had to go through to grow up and learn."

Rihanna says she was wrong for going back to Chris Brown

Singer Rihanna finally spoke out on her abusive relationship with Chris Brown on Good Morning America on Thursday, telling Diane Sawyer she wanted other women to avoid being blinded by love when they are being battered. And whatever you do, don't go back to the creep.

"It's completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself," the 20-year-old singer said. "I'll say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence: 'Don't react off of love.'"

Rihanna said she was ashamed to go back to him after the attack, to which he pleaded guilty to felony assault: "That's embarrassing -- that's the type of person I fell in love with. So far in love, so unconditional, that I went back," she said. "That's not what I want to teach people."

The interview, parts of which will be on Friday's GMA and 20/20 (watch part of it here), is her first since the February attack. The fact that she is a role model dawned on her because of the vicious assault, during which Brown choked, punched and even bit her.

"When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part. I couldn't be held responsible for telling them, 'Go back,'" she said. "I didn't realize how much of an impact I had on these girls' lives until that happened. It was a wake-up call for me, big time, especially when I took myself out of the situation."

The lesson, she said, is that it was not an isolated incident, and not something she should be silent about, despite waiting until her latest album, Russian Roulette, was released to speak up.

"I am strong. This happened to me. I didn't cause this. I didn't do it. This can happen to me and it can happen to anybody."

Rihanna tells Glamour about Chris Brown attack, named 2009 Woman of the Year

While we're waiting to see what Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer about Chris Brown's attack from February, we have a cover story from Glamour to keep us busy. It's like she's got a new album to sell or something.

"My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see. They have followed every step of my recovery," ," she tells the mag, which named her the 2009 Woman of the Year. "The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn't heard. Now I can help speak for those women."

But while she wants to be a voice for victims, she says the attention was more than she bargained for.

"I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day," she says. But nine months puts things in perspective. "I am stronger, wiser and more aware. You don't realize how much your decisions affect people you don't even know, like fans."

Yeah, you know, those fans who've made you rich and famous? Those people you don't know? Who knew they paid attention to you? And what about that photo of you battered and bruised that leaked online?

"It was humiliating: that is not a photo you would show to anybody," she says. "I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it's my life."

Maybe that's when she should have said something, and not nine months later, but in this case, it's truly better late than never.

Rihanna will speak out about Chris Brown assault on ABC

The very first interview with Rihanna about Chris Brown's assault from February is coming to TV, and it'll be on ABC. Good; we'd hate to see that kind of salaciousness on Fox.

The network says the pop star's one-on-one with Diane Sawyer will air Thursday on Good Morning America and Friday evening on 20/20, the AP reports. We can only hope it doesn't include a performance of Russian Roulette, but we're not holding our breath.

Brown is back in the spotlight with a new single and a new album coming out, which he somehow had time to do after being sentenced to five  years' probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling after he pleaded guilty to felony assault in August. Something tells us this isn't the kind of publicity he wants right now.

Justin Timberlake, Rihanna might be dating

The gossip-generating randomizer has shaken up the world's famous names and spit out the latest Star story that Justin Timberlake and Rihanna are now an item after getting it on after the VMAs a couple weeks ago. No wonder Jessica Biel is going off to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

The two singers allegedly hit a hotel room after the VMA party at 1Oak in New York, the mag says.

“Rihanna and Justin have been talking and texting on the phone nonstop since the VMAs,” a source says. “She asked him on the phone, ‘Are you still with Jessica?’ And he hinted that things were cooling off between them.”

This grist comes from the fact that the pair were working on her new album together, where all sorts of wild stories came from, including lots of flirting and an impromptu lap dance by Chris Brown's ex.

“They tried to keep it a secret, but Jessica found out within days,” a source says about the hotel hookup. “She must be a wreck.”

Yes, people often get all worked up by completely untrue stories these days; just watch any of the political pundits on cable networks.

Chris Brown pulls weeds for community service (video)

Judge Patricia Schnegg wanted Chris Brown to serve hard time when she sentenced him to 180 days of community service for beating up Rihanna, and from the looks of video from Richmond, Va.'s NBC affiliate WWBT, he seems to be doing some pretty thankless labor. Not that it kept him from smiling and waving to fans.

In the video (watch it above), Brown is shown clearing brush with hand tools Wednesday under the watchful eye of armed guards, which he'll have to pay for to make sure he isn't mobbed by fans -- angry or otherwise.

Brown's schedule, including work hours and days, will be flexible, and he will be performing different types of manual labor, Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley told the AP. The schedule will not be released for security reasons, but all of it will be in Richmond, which is near his home in Montpelier.

"We'll just take a look at it day by day and certainly would ask for the cooperation of the public and Chris' fans so that he is able to satisfy the work requirements," Lepley said.

Although, to watch the footage, it looks like the TV crews are outnumbering the few gawkers who came out to watch this girl beater. Maybe they were hoping he could bite them, too.

Chris Brown complains about Oprah Winfrey

All the bow ties and interviews on Larry King in the world won't help Chris Brown now that he's picked a fight with Oprah Winfrey. You can ask the beef industry about starting trouble with her, Chris.

In an interview with People, Brown blabbed that he felt Oprah's show on domestic violence, dedicated to "all the Rihannas in the world," was uncalled for. Because he's the victim here.

“I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face,” Brown told People. “I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could’ve been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.’” 

Did he really say that? His self-absorption knows no bounds. But his career may have officially reached its limit.

“He’s done,” an endorsement-savvy source tells MSN's The Scoop. “Whatever goodwill he had, he’s totally ruined it by saying that. What was he thinking? And who the hell goes up against Oprah? It just shows he doesn’t think. No one is going to want him as the face of their brand.”

Winfrey's people sure won't be calling him to be on the air anytime soon, either: “Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously," a rep tells MSN. "She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.” 

Hey Chris, you've been complaining a lot lately that no one seems to be very sympathetic to your plight, and that gee, you're oh-so-upset. Could that possibly be because you're not the one who was beaten, choked and bitten, and that every time you make an appearance you seem more concerned about your career tahn the horrible things you did? We think they might be related.
