Or at least that's what we can infer from the interview he gave to host Ryan Seacrest on Seacrest's syndicated morning radio show on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles on Thursday. "Was that the right win?" Seacrest asked. Cowell replied that he while he thought winner Kris Allen was a nice guy, "Was he the best singer in the competition? No." "You know what my feeling on the show is," Cowell added. "I mean he's popular. If you allow America to vote, you live with the vote. I wouldn't have said he was the best singer in the competition, no. He was like a little puppy dog." The two then offered up the ultimate insult, ranking Allen in the middle of American Idol winners, just above Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks, but below Jordin Sparks. Later, Cowell was a little bit more conciliatory. "Listen, congratulations Kris. Anyone that gets the public vote, good luck to them."
