Wasted chance

The Lightning totally wasted its first power play opportunity, taking to much time to find the perfect shot, then settling for a ho-hum Dan Boyle wrister from 50-feet out.

And now Johan is getting assaulted on even strength

Dan Boyle has played selfishly and not as hard hitting defenseman that he should have. He's been goal hungry and pinching entirely too much. The other defenders have also been pinching entirely too much, taking big blast from the point, showing no patience. Last night the score could have been allot worse. There were too many shots from the point leading to giant kick out saves to the forwards from Brodeur catching the lightning pinching in on the point. 2 on 1, 3 on 2 was far more prevalent that in the last 2 games. The Bolts are going to have to play better defense. Holmer did his part...defenders are going to make the difference. Oh, and thanks NHL for the BS officials. Mr. Magoo would make it as a grocery bagger in this country.

Officiating always destroys momentum. These guys need to be accountable. The zebras stunk up the Forum. It's been this way all year.

You can sum it up in one word - sloppy! The penalties and turnovers is what did them in. It would be nice to see some consistent officiating but why start now? They haven't gotten it right all season. But can't they just let them play? I feel a win in NJ by our boys. Torts will straighten them out on those turnovers and a more simple, hard forechecking game will be played. Bolts - 4, NJD - 2

It couldn't have been a surprise NJ came out desparately? We duplicate that type of desparation shown by NJ last night, coupled with the effort TB showed in Tuesdays game and we bring it to home ice for the clincher. Take our foot ( or even little toe) off the gas for a second, momentary lapse of concentration (passing the biscuit in front of our own goal) and the boys wil be fishing and golfing next week.
Habby who? No one but Holmer himself could have predicted this guy's stellar play in the last two games. Long may it run.
Tim Taylor, with all his pain played like a trojan. He may be no Andreychuk as a skipper, but he played a tough game last night with Tarns.
Lets go Bolts! Give NJ it's last game in that arena.

Holmer kept us in this one, folks. Frankly, we deserved to lose with the overall effort (save for the commendable burst of energy scoring the two tying goals in the second period). Hopefully, the guys can regain their get-up-and-go and win in Jersey. This thing seems destined for seven games.

I expected worse from the Lightning tonight. This is usually where they destroy themselves. But I guess a loss is a loss. Anyone seen Dan Boyle lately?

A so-so regular season type effort almost had us dumped in regulation; were it not for the guts and Lightning Pride that pulled together in the third period. Intense effort makes for the swing in a ref's mind to cuff the slacker. We didn't go at 'em hard on every shift and we paid for it in non-calls. Again.
Guys, go get those pukes on Friday night and we'll take 'em down in six.
No way the Devils match up with us when we work hard.
Go Bolts!

Thank you Dave Jackson and Michael McGeough for last night;-)

Oh, and thanks for the great officiating tonight!
