Can we cool it a little?

Everyone:

I am asking you to please watch what you write on this blog. Disagreements with each other are fine. You don't like the job I'm doing, fine as well. But the paper is not going to allow spitting matches between bloggers much longer. Please state your arguments without the profanity for which there is no need. Disagree but please don't insult. Again, not necessary.

This blog has gotten to be one of the most popular at the paper, generally in the top 10 and more popular than the Rays and some of the college football sites. It's supposed to be fun. Let's not ruin a good thing.

Hopefully, Sunday's story on the new investor will give more insight. Doug MacLean admits to "bumps in the road'' as two potential investors drop out, though he would not reveal who they were. Also, some perspective from an investment guy in Boston who has dealt with an NHL acquisition.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Thank you Damian. It was getting pretty hard to read all of the negativity and squabbling in the blogs. Many of the comments had nothing to do with the subject. We're all hockey fans and want the Bolts to win. I'm not sure that nasty comments are the way to show our support. So I say GO BOLTS!!! looking forward to a great season.

I agree. I sometimes wonder if we don't get fans from other teams posting here the way some bloggers seem to concentrate on the negative, and ususally in a less than polite way. I went to the Lightning "office party" on Thursday night at which I had a chance to speak to one of the players. In the course of the conversation I asked if he ever reads message boards or blogs such as these and his was comment was (and I paraphrase), "no, they're too nasty." He also said (and I quote), "don't believe everything you read!" Anyway, I 'm not saying we fans have to ignore the reality of flaws in our team and be unrelentingly positive, but let's be civil about pointing out those flaws and disagreeing with each other. Thanks all and Go Bolts!

This is a blog - by nature it is opinion based and you are correct Judy some posters are from other teams. What this shows to me and yes I'm a participant is the massive passion for the team and the best sport of men. LR, MBAB, SarasotaBilland yes even JJ (the closet Islanders Fan) have valid points good and bad what seems to be uncivil is the disagreement of the participants. This is not a cup of tea session this is a group of people in an environment used to express and share opinions no doubt we will disagree.

One thing that hockey does for REAL fans it will bear the best and worst of their souls.

Go Bolts

I made a mistake the other day, when I responded to comments on my previous post about the sale. Instead of stepping back, I immediately responded with an e-mail that I wished I had not posted, within a minute hitting the post button. It was to late then. Damian's comments today are right to the point, and I intend to only comment on hockey in the future.

Whatever I have done to heighten the back and forth personal posts, I apologize. On a direct note, Aggie I apologize for directing my stupid comments at you. It was thoughtless on my part; and I hope to read your blogs in the future.

It's time for hockey.

Thanks Damian.
At the end of the day its just a game...the best game in the world, but still just a game that we all love.
Go Bolts.
Is it October 4 yet?

i can not help but chuckle over you fightning bloggers....it was bound to happen after last weeks "economic summit" on the web...nothing can stir a pot like economics, politics and...I can't remember the other one.....good conversation and constructive criticism is healthy among adults......this ain't no tea party though, if all you want to hear is raving compliments during a ten game losing streak.....after two nights of various injuries...do all of you "optimists" see how thin this team really is and how serious an issue this is????if not, I will be nice,...you're BLIND....oh i just thought of the third thing...religion!!I only want Protestants writng in...no Catholics.....I just got back from church so i am KIDDING....GOD lOVES US ALL....even Grod and Satch and Bear.....keep up the good work all, there are alot of good points on this blog...I would hate the acts of a few "economicists" to shut it down.....does this blog have spellcheck??cause i sure need it!!!!
and before everyone goes to bed tonight...say a prayer for danny boyle.....he will be sorely missed......sorely!!!

we will learn the depth of the team that is for sure. Thin is relative as it is related to WHOM is lost. Boyle is out for a bit now lets see who steps up. No signle player can fill the space so it will be a team effort. One week to go.

Thanks Damian! I was getting so tired of reading the negativity and insulting comments made by some of my fellow bloggers. Several times also posts had nothing to do with the subject and were off topic.

Fellow bloggers, please read Damian's (or the paper's) Comment Policy to the left before you post next time to remind yourself of what is acceptable. We are all here on this blog because we love our team.
