Boyle surgery set for Friday

Defenseman Dan Boyle will have surgery to repair the two tendons in his left wrist that have not healed from his original surgery Sept. 23, the team announced.

The surgery will be performed by Thomas Graham, the vice chairman for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. Graham was recommended to Boyle, the team said, by Lightning medical director Ira Guttentag and his associate Richard Gray, who performed the original surgery on Boyle, and Boyle's agent George Bazos.

No word on how long Boyle will be sidelined.

From what we've seen so far, they're all tests for this team. No gimmes. There's no better scenario than fighting for the seventh playoff slot. Even without a sale pending (that hopefully won't be pulled off), ownership not inclined to pour money in for only the possibility of a first round home ice advantage in the playoffs.

Good luck to you danny-git 'er done right this time and don't rush it. I sat behind the net last nite and KUNG Johan "LiL Honken" stood on his head in the 3rd and for most of the game, he did let in that soft one right under the glove, but played great the rest of the way-just give him some d-help and he'll be alright. He is so quick on recovery and back and forth.
The true test will be tonite.....

See what happens when you dont have 20 minutes of penalties and you get some saves. Lets keep it rolling. I hope Denis isnt in net tonight!

A win is a win is a win. I wake up this morning and the world is a little bit greener. The universe is at peace once again, as our Lightning post a Big Fat W.

Phew. Relief, although the 'Canes will be a real challenge tonight. Good to see some bounces go our way. I believe I've seen the guys play better than last night and lose this season. Maybe the "worm is turning". As Prospal said, "sooner or later youre going to win". Agree with Mike 13, where's the big body in the goalies face?
Pleeeeease take the shot guys. Richie, Marty even Ranger, prettying around with the puck in the offensive zone. Counted four opportunities last night where the puck carrier appeared to have a clear shot, but made one pass too many only to have the play broken up.
But a win is a win. Take the 2 points and go on. Win ugly or pretty, it doesnt matter

Chic,

That's why Craig is so valuable. He parks himself in front. Can't wait to see him suit up again.

Good luck DFB we are hoping this all turns out well for you.

About the game last night well done fellas. It was a little scary part of the way through the second and into the third period at least in the stands it was. You could almost feel the tension in the air when the stinkin panthers started pressuring us.

Homer was off the hook and it is nice to see our offense is picking up as well.Go MSL. I do acgree with Mike 13 though in that especially from where I sit (309) you can really see the entire sheet of ice and it does appear no onee is at the net ready to take a shot. It is almost a delayed reaction. Someone needs to be in front of the net. Basic hockey guys..

Great w now lets kill that horrid road monkey we have on our backs... Keep the MO rolling..

Lets go Bolts.....

A solid effort despite the second period letdown. Guys are still overpassing but all in all, a fine effort. Let's knock off Carolina!!

Not sure where to post this, so I'll just use the latest blog entry.

I'm watching the game right now. The Bolts are playing a very energetic style for the entire 3rd period. Lots of desperation. One thing that I am seeing that I just don't get. Why are St. Louis, Lecavalier, and Prospal all along the boards behind the Panthers' net? We gain possession and then what? No one in front of the net to pass it to. So a defensemen (Kuba in this case) pinches and nearly gets caught as the cats blaze out of their zone on a 3-2.

Glad to see Vinny get the empty netter and the Bolts snap their losing streak.

Yahoo!!!

Good luck Danny boy. Get well soon.
