Thanks for the e-mails
Must have gotten 40 e-mails with your opinions on the Brad Richards trade. I have moved them along to Tom Jones, our Page 2 editor. The best of the bunch, edited for space, of course, should appear Friday on Page 2. Thanks again.

forgot to mention it in my email comments and really havent heard anyone say much about it... lots of complaints that we didnt get much for richards in the trade... never is it mentioned that signing boyle first for $3mil a year more was a bad decision by Feaster and company. We looked desperate to get rid of Brad to stay under the cap... at that point Dallas had the upper hand in negotiations and they sure as heck worked us over on the deal.

Before anyone makes judgements on which Team did the best job on Richards trade, just give the 3 players the BOLTS have now a chance to show their ability as most have not been able to watch the play of Dallas much, maybe Halpern with the Caps. Lets see their performance first before giving Dallas the edge on the trade.

Anybody can say anything they want to say about the trade of Brad. I for one, am happy with the trade because the money spent on Brad can be put to better use. It was clear all of the money spent for Vinny4, Marty and Brad was just too much money spent on 3 players. Vinny4 and Marty have great chemistry and should be here. Boyle is much needed here so at least we can have one D-man that can complete the transition from the defensive zone to neutral ice and into the offensive zone. Without Boyle, there was not any transition game to speak of. The backtracking that was done by the D-men before Boyle came back was terrible. The other teams' forecheck smothered the Bolts in their own zone and caused many turnovers which in turn created goals and scoring chances for opposing teams. The only trade I am furious about was the one that gave up Vinny20 for nothing IMO. If the draft pick was at least this year I would not be so mad for the deep draft coming up.

It's pretty well settled around the league that Dallas gained the most in the last frantic trading days of any team and that the Lightning did not get full value, even accounting for the salary dump.

After all the complaining and bashing and snivelling alot of you did about Brad when he was in Tampa,, well I guess the old adage "careful what you wish for" comes into play now. Hah !
