Want to see how Vinny's doing?
There is a short video presentation on Lightning TV, which is part of tampabaylightning.com. It shows Vinny starting the rehab from his April 15 surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Recovery time is believed to be three to four months which means the star center should be ready for September's training camp.
The surgery was done by noted orthopedist James Andrews.
Vinny, who is shown working with assistant trainer Jason Serbus, says all the right things about how it is "going well" and how he is "excited to be back to 100 percent." But the funniest moment is when he talks about how the surgery made him realize "how important your arm is, from cutting your food to getting dressed."
He says it with a smile.

Thanks Damian. It was good to see Vinny in good humor and recovering. Also interesting to note that it looks like he is recovering in Tampa at this point, not in Montreal, like it was originally stated. Of course, it is just the beginning of the rehab, so he can still head back to Montreal as part of his rehab time (like he usually does in the off season).
There are some fun clips on that site and I enjoyed watching them. I must say, I am not enjoying the playoffs without the Bolts in there, so it was fun to find that site.

Vinny will want to make sure that shoulder is nice and flexible so he can administer the unmerciful pummeling that Matt Cooke has coming to him next season.
Hey, Cristodero, why do you keep saying the Bolts need two top 6 forwards and a vet d-man? Boyle, Luko and Kuba are all plenty seasoned and Ranger ain't exactly green. What the Bolts need is 3 top 6 forwards. One for the M-V-? line and two for the Stamkos line.

Dave, I think most of us feel that Jokinen should get the chance to prove himself with Stamkos. Get one more forward for his line, and one for Marty and Vinny, and keep the Darche, Oulette and Halpern line together since they really seemed to click well. Then, re-sign Gratton for the 4th line center and have him with Tarnasky and whoever they decide to keep for the 4th line.
Although Kuba, Lukawich and Boyle are seasoned, Boyle is an offensive minded defensman (we need one solid stay at home defenseman), Kuba and Lukawich have been disappointing (at least to me). We need someone that will hit and take the body.

Come on Lisa - the temps in Montreal right now are in the low to mid 50's while they are in the low to mid 80's in Tampa. If you could pick which would you choose??

Geografer, Lisa's comment was in reference to a comment from Vinny that he would rehab in Montreal which was then absurdly twisted by another blogger to mean that Vinny wants to leave the Bolts to play in Canada....

Geografer, as boltflasher said, I am responding to previous posts about Vinny rehabbing in MOntreal. The posters were saying that Vinny couldn't wait to get out of Tampa, and that he would go to Montreal and never look back. I am just pointing out that here he is, with big smiles, rehabbing in Tampa.
I actually watched some of the other clips and found some of the question and answer segments quite funny and interesting. One thing that Vinny said that probably shows some of the attraction of Tampa is that on his days off, he loves to hang out at the beach or on the water. Do you really think he would be doing that in Montreal or Toronto or NY?
