Prospects Camp, Day 2
TampaBayLightning.com's "Insider" chronicles the second day of prospect came from Victoria, B.C.
"It was an earlier start this morning as the players headed over to the rink for a warm-up workout in preparation for tonight's scrimmage. The sunshine and blue skies we'd been enjoying until now has given way to rain, and according to the locals it's the first rain in almost two months. Lucky us! I find it hard to believe, though, that they haven’t been getting any rain here in the Pacific Northwest.
Rewinding a bit, the team enjoyed a steak dinner in the members-only clubhouse at Bear Mountain last night, with the entertainment provided by Len Barrie's father, Len Sr. The elder Barrie kept everyone in the room on their toes with NHL trivia that even had trivia buff Barry Melrose scratching his head.
Back to today – this morning’s sessions were lighter than yesterday, with each team doing some on-ice work and off-ice work before heading back to the resort. After a quick lunch it was time for the Bolts to tend to some business, with Steven Stamkos officially signing on the dotted line on a three-year rookie contract during a press conference at the Westin Bear Mountain. There were smiles all around as Stamkos was joined onstage by Owners Len Barrie and Oren Koules, vice president of hockey operations Brian Lawton and head coach Barry Melrose. Part owner Russell Belinsky, a business partner of Koules’ from California, also made an appearance."

Quick wearing #19 tickles the bone.
Give Wishart a number he'll grow in to, not Grats' active numero.

This Lightning insider guy sucks. He doesn't give any useful information on the prospects. What's the point?

Not trying to steal DC or Brants thunder, but I thought I'd post the link to the latest post by the insider on the Bolts website.

How about some information about a few prospects and how they have performed so far. Who cares about the weather and what they had for dinner? This is a hockey blog.

Huh? I saw that too, but notice his first name. Daryl. That isnt the same player that went by the name Dan Boyle. Besides, Dan is a veteran, and was traded. These are just rookies. It would be funny if Daryl Boyle who also plays defenseman developed into a great puck moving defenseman, though. LOL

Boyle?...I thought he was traded?
