Lightning loses again

Tampa Bay allowed three unanswered goals in the third period and fell to the Red Wings 5-2 Sunday at a prospects tournament in Traverse City Mich.

The Lightning (0-2) tied the game 2-2 2:53 into the third on Luciano Aquino's unassisted tally. But Justin Abdelkader's power play goal 1:42 later put Detroit ahead for good.

Matias Sointu's power play goal at 5:16 of the second period gave Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead. Daryl Boyle and Ty Wishart got assists. Goalie Dustin Tokarski made 23 saves on 26 shots as the Red Wings scored two empty-net goals in the final 1:29. The Lightning was 1-for-7 (1-for-15 in two games) on the power play. Detroit was 1-for-10.

Tampa Bay faces the Rangers on Tuesday.
