As you asked: Comment registration

In response to your concerns about inappropriate comments and impersonators on this blog, tampabay.com is now implementing comment registration. In order to leave a comment, you will need to first register for a TypeKey account.

This is a way to authenticate and protect your online identity. Once you've registered, your name appears as a hyperlink to your profile. It is free, and you can share as much or as little personal information as you like. That way, readers will be able to tell which posts are from you and which are not. Many of you have registered for this service already, recognizing its benefits to you.

Once you've registered, your account works on all of tampabay.com's blogs, as well as other typepad blogs. Here's some more information on TypeKey, should you have any questions.

Thanks for the secure site. Sarasota Bill sign in.

Thanks for the upgrade, I feel much safer posting here.

yes the footer is not so great

Great news on the sign in, now if we just get rid of that footer advertising bar that keeps popping up.

Yes, thanks SPT for the sign in...to0 bad that this was needed but glad!!

AWWWWRight!

I especially liked the part where they try to screen the under-13 year olds.

Hokay, well Ol' Casper is going to morph back to my original moniker, Oscar. That was before Phantom, F.T.B.S., and a few others to keep the shrink and his nose picking ilk off balance. BTW, Phantom wasn't meant to skulk in the shadows; For many years I used to load bombs on F-4 Phantoms in Uncle Sam's Proletarian Air Corps. The Kid gots no knees!

Let's talk hockey!
