Agent: "It's just another can of rumors"
Kent Hughes, the agent for Lightning captain Vinny Lecavalier, said his client heard about the report by Ron Fournier of CKAC radio in Montreal who said Tampa Bay might be willing to trade Lecavalier if the team encountered financial difficulties.
"I don't know where this rumor is starting," Hughes said. "We were assured they would not trade him if we agreed to extend the contract, and we haven't heard anything otherwise from them."
Lecavalier signed last summer an 11-year, $85-million extension that kicks in next season and includes a no-move clause that begins July 1.
Hughes said he spoke to Lecavalier before Friday's game.
"He gave me reason to believe it's just another can of rumors," Hughes said.

Oh really, Hihi and Ray???
Could you please show me ONE link from Montreal before Vinny's agent denied anything starting these rumors?
Just one.
Guess what? TAMPA is the one that started the rumors. And contrary to you, I can PROVE it: THIS blog!
Did I say anything??? No.
So quit yer gripings and blame throwings. You made your bed, now sleep in it. Don't blame us every time a rumor starts.
"Oh, in your dreams, Montreal..."
Yeah, that's right. It's our "DREAM" to be a stanky-butt, directionless, last place team.
Boy, you guys are lucky.
Got it all figured out, eh?
Pff...
P.

In 40+ years V4 will have his jersey in the rafters, another wing in All-Childrens Hospital named after him because of his devotion to this area and his incredible giving spirit, Channelside Drive renamed "Vincent Lecavalier Drive", and there still will be rumors that he will play one season in Montreal.....TWG

Someone should let the Habs fans know that Vinny's favorite team growing up was the Red Wings, they seem to think he was obsessed with the Habs. His favorite player was always Steve Yzerman.
I think in 40+ years when Vinny dies there will still be rumors. "Canadian doctors find way to bring people back to life, first trial to be done on Vincent Lecavalier because he never got to play for his beloved Habs, more at 11."

This will be an ongoing source of entertainment for us from "up narth" until well after Vincent Lecavalier has retired, his #4 hanging in the rafters. Canadians will then churn out rumors of his intent to validate their existence by coming OUT of retirement to slog around the rink in some other uniform :p
