...curious whatever happened to the 6'6 240# Russian goalie we drafted back in 2002, Vasili Koshechkin ? I believe he has been playing in the ryssland league.
On another note, wow, Steve McNair, shot and killed in his home.

Playing in the KHL if you believe reports from people like Emery, is a horror compared to playing in the NHL. I figure a year will be enough for Harju, Ramo and Smolenak and they'll be more than ready to come back. Of course the marginal player will never leave because the lack of Americans and Canadians leaves more money on the table for them.

If this teams make some strides this year and the bottom lines are still weak, I think the KHL defectors will be knocking on the door to play again.

Olin, I would have loved to have seen Harju as well. We could still get him next season, as I believe he has a clause in his contract that allows him to sign in the NHL after 1 year.

...no Johan Harju ????....bummer, the kid can score goals at least in the elite league, but so could Andreas K. Was looking forwad to watching Harju. Guess he is a KHL casualty

AS boltz91 said I have just played with my trade imagination, I think HARDING is the NHL goalie who can make smths game better and get over 30 games. TOKARSKI, HELENIUS have a lot of talent but both need time. Perhaps 3 ys.
By the way Karri Ramo was very good backup, with this new defense he could ...
I hope walker finally replace the hole after corey sarich, remember him in 2004???

Chad Larose resigned with Carolina for 2 years. Bummer, he sounded like the type of player we need to add - an overachiever.

If they can't find a top 6 forward that fit's their budget and desired traits then it may be Bochenski will get his final shot as a top six winger in the NHL. He's has some success in that role in the past but has never been able to sustain it. A few years back in Ottawa he had 10 goals in the first 25 games and then fell apart and was subsequently traded. I'm not sure if he had a chip on his shoulder or what, but he's shown an aptitude to score. He's been working out all summer up in Minnesota along with Lundin and Smaby, with Chuck Lobe and Brian Ziegler. I'm hoping these guys come in jacked and ready to compete this year, otherwise all will find it tougher to earn and keep a job in Tampa Bay this season. The other option is Downie whose also spent part of the summer up in Minnesota working out as has Ryan Craig. With Malone, Craig, Artyukhin, Hall, Walker and Smaby, we may be able to go with an enforcer by committee this year.

The Wild could definitely use another defenseman. I'm not sure they want to have to sign a backup goaltender though.

hey everyone,
last trades gave us the new look.
I am trying to make a lineup from my view.
G: SMITH and HARDING
D: OHLUND MESZAROS
RANGER Mr. SMABY
WALKER HEDMAN
LASHOFF KRAJICEK
TOP LINE: PROSPAL LECAVALIER ST.LOUIS
2ND: MALONE STAMKOS SAMUELSON
CHECKING LINE: SZCZECHURA HALPERN R2KIN
ANOTHER CHECKLINE: DOWNIE HALL KARSUMS BOCHENSKI OR KONOPKA
IF THEY GET SAMUELSON MAYBE DOWNIE AND SZCECHURA will play in Norfolk again as key role player, if not a im sure that downie or paul will play the 2nd line winger.
Tell me why we have so many right hand shooters as forvard, sounds crazy
how to get harding??? trade lundin or mihalik, cos i dont see a real chance for them to play for bolts in the near future an important role

Downie has been in the league to long to be a young gun. Besides we don't want him going off on one of the newbies.
I sure home he comes to camp this year ready to play clean hockey. We could sure use his skillset. Make him room with Marty or something.
