Dog the Bounty Hunter vs. Kathie Lee Gifford: The strange bedfellows of NBC's Celebrity Family Feud revival
So, if Kathie Lee took on Dog the Bounty Hunter, who might survive? Could Vivica A. Fox handle the bodacious Monique? And would Rayven Symone mop the floor with Wayne Newton?
I can't imagine anyone who hasn't imbibed some serious hallucinogens even considering these questions. Which makes it all the more interesting to note these matchups -- and more oddball combinations-- as the superstar teams competing on NBC's Celebrity Family Feud July 1.
Today show weatherdude Al Roker takes the lessons learned mediating the icy off-camera silences between Matt Lauer and Katie Couric and puts them to work hosting the show, which will pit oddball D-list celebrities who need the publicity against other over-Botoxed creatures in hopes of landing a VH1 series or a spot on Dancing With the Stars.

The Feed is a blog on TV, media and modern life by St. Petersburg Times TV/media critic Eric Deggans. Possibly the most critical guy at the Times, he has served as music, media and TV critic at various times over 10 years.
E-mail Eric Deggans:

We've got something coming -- basically, the person who does obits and I were both out of town on the day he died. I'm working on a story, but so much news has broken today i'm delaying it a bit...

One question though Eric...and I've scanned the Times for this for the past few days, but if I've missed it, my bad--why haven't I seen a mention of the passing of Don Richards from WFLA Radio?

much as i sympathize with your frustration, if you read this blog for a week, you'll see I have interviewed TV actor/comic Eddie Izzard, announced the resolution of lewdness charges against the head of one of the largest TV stations in town, explored the impact of job losses at the Tampa Tribune and talked about the social implications of a confederate flag flying over the largest highway intersection in Tampa.
There's lots of different material here for anyone who is willing to take a little time to look it over...

Exactly what are you being paid to do Eric Deggans? While reading the paper today, my eyes and mind came to a screeching hault on page 2b at "todays 'big' question". What a waste of space. Who really cares about this. All day long I speak to loyal St. Petersburg Times readers that are very upset that their important information has been moved, changed, or taken out of their routine lives permantly to make more room for space wasters like your 1"X5" self proclaimed "BIG QUESTION"! I would have to ask a real big question, perhaps, don't you have a best friend or someone you can call at like 12am when you're stoned and ask this? How's that for a big question!

With a nasty trout like Kathie Lee, how can Dog the bounty hunter survive?
