My fave TV oddity of the moment: Mike and Juliet's Spaghetti Cat on The Soup

It was funny when media watchers uncovered the way producers at Fox's mediocre Mike and Juliet morning show inserted the visual of a cat eating spaghetti during a serious segment about binge drinking.

(UPDATE: An odd situation gets even odder with a call from the show's publicist, who informed me this quick cut to a bizarre picture is what producers do when someone says something inappropriate for air. Of course, because it isn't really explained, casual viewers wind up assuming it's a mistake or bizarre non sequitur. Expect more of these in the future as the show is coming back for a second season.)

It's even funnier when The Soup gets hold of the clip, as the host who has snarked his way through countless bits of televised stupidity finds it impossible to keep a straight face.
