WTSP offers tryouts for the Price Is Right...at a plastic surgery office

Is it your longtime dream to hand Drew Carey chips for the Plinko game? Or sweep your hands sensuously across the face of a Maytag dryer before a nationwide TV audience?

Then St. Petersburg CBS affiliate WTSP-Ch. 10 has got a contest for you. Starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, WTSP will hold tryouts for the coveted job of Price is Right spokesmodel, at the Landy Center for Plastic Surgery, 2835 West de Leon Street, Tampa, Fla.

Interested participants have to send an email to WTSP at auditions@tampabays10.com and request an audition time. You'll have to answer some question in your email; the form can be found here.

The winner will be flown to Los Angeles for a larger audition which will feature at least 12 other contestants picked by CBS affiliates from across the country.

WTSP says the auditions are being held at the Landy Center because they're a sponsor. I guess it doesn't hurt that, if you get rejected, you might be able to correct the problem that lost you the gig right on the premises.

CBS's THE PRICE IS RIGHT, television's longest-running game show, is launching a nationwide search for its newest model, Wednesday, August 13, at the Landy Center for Plastic Surgery, 2835 West de Leon Street, Tampa, Fla.  WTSP-TV, the CBS station in Tampa, will hold open auditions from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  Details, applications, rules and eligibility information can be found at www.tampabays10.com.

Additional cities will be announced in the coming weeks.  In September, one winner from each market will be chosen to come to Los Angeles and audition for the producers of THE PRICE IS RIGHT.  The top five finalists from those auditions will each have the opportunity to appear on an episode of THE PRICE IS RIGHT that will air October 20-24.  Viewers will be able to vote online for their favorite finalist.  The winner will be announced on air November 7 and appear on an upcoming week of shows.
