NBC scores in fact checking Sarah Palin
Those who feared the constant attacks on media might keep journalists from bird-dogging politicians' claims can be heartened by this piece from NBC Nightly News, which takes a tough look at many misleading statements made by GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
Politicians always stretch the truth, especially during tough elections. But I've been particularly concerned by the way the GOP seems willing in recent weeks to make patently untrue statements, hopeful that saying things which are easily disproven with conviction will be enough for their supporters.

I'll bet we see a few more items about Palin's statements and claims not making it through a fact check. No surprise.
I will also bet that if a fact check were run on Joe Biden, the computer would blow up. Biden's history of truth-stretching is well documented, and well-earned.

That is so sexist! Everyone knows those facts have a liberal bias.

I'm shocked! A VP candidate who fibs...who ever heard of such a thing? I'm surprised your blog hasn't blown up yet with Obama bashers and Palin supporters.

I have just called up the web site using Internet Explorer and have no problem hearing the sound. I suggest you try another web browser if possible. Sometimes firefox and Safari react differently to enbedded video -- although I've looked at it on safari and it seems to work as well....
