Ex-Tampa Tribune executive Bruce Faulmann named publisher of Times Publishing Co.'s Florida Trend magazine
On Monday, his name appeared on the Tampa Tribune's masthead as its vice president of advertising and sales. Today, staffers at Times Publishing Co. heard that Bruce Faulmann had left the Media General newspaper to join Florida Trend as its new publisher -- replacing the retiring Lynda Keever, who will stay on as COO until April 2009.
Faulmann brings a tremendous amount of knowledge about area media outlets, from five years as VP at the Tribune to stints as the paper's advertising director and head of marketing. Before that, Faulmann spent 15 years at the Bradenton Herald, ultimately leaving as director of sales. Now he comes to Florida Trend as only the sixth publisher in the magazine's 50-year history.

For the cynics and comics who think they know everything, Bruce is an excellent fit for Florida Trends. He's a classy guy who will fit great with an excellent publication. Bruce's enthusiasm and high character will be greatly appreciated by the people who will be fortunate to be working with him. I have had the privilege of working with him on civic endeavors in Tampa and, no, I am not a relative of his.

Good to see Mr. Faulmann's relatives posting.
"Respected media professional"....is there such a thing?
Methinks not. I would say the next trend for Florida Trend would be bankruptcy.

Faulmann is a respected media professional and community leader. It's a loss for the Tribune, without a doubt.

Trend got a good one in Bruce. He was one of the best at the Trib. Losing him is a major blow.

Better get in line Trib, Times, etc... The bail-out goldrush is in high gear!

The problems at the Trib are not the fault of Mr. Faulmann. He's a top notch executive!

Hey maybe Faulmann can do for FlaTrend what he did for the Trib! (I think I hear "Taps" playing but that could be a Veterans Day thing.)

This just in -- Faulmann's grandfather was the Captain of the Titanic!
Rats do, indeed, leave a sinking ship. But why would anyone on a floating ship hire said rat....?

As successful as he was in saving the Trib, the pick was a shoo-in, huh?

Smart on Mr. Faulmann's part. However, maybe not so on the hire by Florida Trend?
