Fox News host notes some European peoples stay "pure" by not marrying outside their nationality
I'm sure when South Carolina Republican Jim DeMint recently said America was in the same shape as Germany just before World War II, he wasn't talking about the dunderheaded references from anchors on conservative-friendly Fox News Channel.
But DeMint might want to reconsider his position, following recent comments by Fox & Friends co-anchor Brian Kilmeade noting Nordic peoples from Sweden and Finland keep their populations "pure" by not marrying outside their nationality or race.
A bit of background: Fox & Friends is easily the most air-headed program in the intellectually challenged world of morning television. This is also the program that aired a caricature of a Jewish journalist who wrote a tough story on the channel that some critics accused of looking like a classic caricature of Jewish people.
According to Gawker, Kilmeade's puzzling theories surfaced during talk about a study showing those with Alzheimer's do better when they're married. The anchor didn't trust the study because it was done in Finland and Sweden, turning a lighthearted piffle of a story into a bizarre treatise on national purity.
Was he implying they have better physical stock because they marry "pure"? Hard to know, because there wasn't much about this brief rant that made any sense. But it does stand as yet another moment when the curtain is briefly pulled back to reveal some of the darker ideas powering what happens on the show. In this critic's opinion.
Check it out for yourself. *

LMAO people are actually defending Fox News defacing people's photos. Holding Michael Jackson to a higher standard than a news channel. What a joke.

Brett, for the record, 52.9% of the popular vote is hardly an overwhelming majority.

Not sure about the "history" of anti-Semitic remarks on Fox&Friends. If you say so ...
Still, it's curious that you're so quick to point out those remarks when they seem to come from conservative sources, and yet you're dead silent when they come from Michael Jackson and Obama's mentor Jeremiah Wright and the Left and Far Left. What gives?
Posted by: Chuck | July 10, 2009 at 01:58 PM
Well done, chuck -- distract the issue by bringing up what other people have done.
Kilmeade seemed to be saying that a study which indicated married people could handle the ill effects of alzheimers better was invalid because it was conducted among Swedes and Finns, who keep their country's "pure" by not marrying other "species."
I'm not sure how anti-Semetic remarks by Jeremiah Wright or Michael Jackson make that statement any more palatable.
And, certainly, if you find those remarks you cited reprehensible, you should be even more upset about Fox & Friends' history than I.
Are you?

Eric, funny how you're only concerned about anti-Semitism when the eruption of that type of racism seemingly comes from conservative quarters.
But you move into denial mode, or say "he's just being crazy" when folks like "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright, by Obama's admission the most significant spiritual influence on the Pres's life, and his most important mentor, are openly anti-Jewish. Most recently, in Wright's first outburst in a long time, he said "them Jews" were responsible for keeping Wright from communicating directly with Obama. Response from you and other liberal writers? Silence.
Don't forget that Obama FOR 20 YEARS attended Wright's church, a place that honored the notorious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan with awards and let the evil Farrakhan espouse his bigotry. Obama only broke off with Wright and Wright's church when it became apparent that the "reverend" was a huge political liability.
And in your rush to follow the crowd and deify Michael Jackson, not only did you gloss over his obvious issues (to put it mildly), but you made no mention of Jackson's voicemail to a business manager, during which he said (in a tape aired on "Good Morning America") "They suck … They're like leeches. … I'm so tired of it … It is a conspiracy. The Jews do it on purpose."
That was on top of the anti-Semitic epithets MJ spit out in his 1995 song 'They Don't Care About Us." He sang "Jew me, sue me” and “Kick me, k--e me”. After getting in hot water over this, he said he would re-record the song and delete the offending lyrics. The following February 1996, he released a video of the song in which he had re-instated the brazenly anti-Semitic remarks.
So, sadly, anti-Semitism frequently is present in Left Wing circles - and that's not even considering the weird support among some liberals for radical Muslim terrorists, like Hamas, whose stated goal is the eradication of Israel. Oddly enough, given the fact that both groups are minorities, some of the most repugnant anti-Semitism has come from African-American groups (like those associated with Wright and Farrakhan). Then there's Jesse Jackson and his notorious "Hymietown" remarks. It's suspect, too, that on Obama's first trip to the Middle East he pointedly skipped Israel, yet again dissing one of America's closest and most important allies, and instead visited countries where anti-Americanism is most virulent.
(hey, did Kilmeade say that Sweden and Finland's practice of marrying within their race/nationalism to remain "pure" was a good thing, or did he just observe that it was a practice in those countries? If the latter, then how was that "racist"?)
. acturptype of racism erupts from the urpiit-For the purist type of anti-Semitism, look no further than

The Fox clods call it purity. The rest of the world calls it inbreeding.
Ask any geneticist. Diversity is the key to a successful gene pool.

Eric, thank you for this insightful and truly expositive posting! You could do so much more for the world if you put this talent you have to even more effective use!! Perhaps a new career choice, you should be a racial sensitivity trainer for a state run agency!! You are so insightful as to be able to pick out even the most disguised and unconscious racist beliefs still lingering in the minds of many conservatives!! You could ferret these out and expose them, help the needy-racists prosper in racial understanding and harmony...indeed you could perpetuate and exacerbate racism in order to continue to provide the Democrats a platform to run on!! "Racism...see, see, its still here everyone, I mean I know that we elected a black president by an overwhelming majority, but still, some people are still racist and I can prove it!" Wow, you do such a great job! Keep up the good work kidd!! I wish I could sleep at night as well as you must, helping everyone the way you do!! You are an invaluable asset to the human race and progress in this nation!!

Wow. gotta say what amazes me is the ability of some fans to explain away what these knuckleheads do every day.

One can post an isolated snippet to prove anything. Watching Kilmeade's thought process is a joy. He is a master of the stream of consciousness style of communication. You never know quite what he is going to say while he's connecting the dots. Once you understand the process you can see his comedic talent and intelligence.
I love it, as the Liberals go nuts just mentioning the FNC. The nation doesn't agree, as their ratings are through the roof, soundly beating their competitors. Yep, FDS, Fox Derangement Syndrome, is alive and well in the media.
As far as graphics are concerned, those people who want to find something, in anything, will. News magazines routinely alter or select pictures/graphics that are detracting to anyone not representing their philosophy, to place them in a negative light. Ever read some of the news crawls on MSNC or CNN?

Kilmead was talking about "pure" blondes, a recessive genetic marker. Pithy banter like that makes Fox & Friends the highest rated morning show on cable TV.

“We keep marring other species” … That might well explain Kilmeade’s idiocy. Who or what else can you blame here? … Oh, right, Fox News’s inbreeding of conservative logic.
