It's auction time again! More gold records! furniture! art work!
Here is the long-awaited list of items scheduled to be included in the Aug. 25 auction of Lou Pearlman's personal property. There's a treasure trove of memorabilia, including a framed gold 45 of "Crying in My Sleep" by cousin Art Garfunkel, who is pictured here. There's lots of stuff from the Backstreet Boys plus items from US5, OTown, Natural, *NSYNC, Take 5, B4-4, Encore, Aaron Carter and New Kids on the Block. There is a bunch of art work, mostly prints, posters, photos, but even some artwork said to be by Lou himself. There also should be a high level of interest in the certificate naming Lou a "20th Century Republican Leader". Many items are furnishings from Lou's home in Windermere, including Royal Doulton fine bone china and crystal (dinner for 40 anyone?), the Century Furniture dining room table with 10 chairs and sideboard, sofas and chairs, a Baldwin baby grand piano, refrigerator, washer and dryer, tanning bed, wrought iron patio furniture, beds and bedding, silk plants and flowers, electronics and even "bathroom supplies." You can see some of the furniture in these photos of Lou's house.
The auction will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at 7075 Kingspointe Parkway, Orlando, and is expected to last well into the afternoon. Preauction inspection will be Friday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and one hour prior to auction. Items may be picked up the day of the auction or the following Sunday or Monday. A 12% buyer's premium will be added to the auction price with a 2% discount for cash payments. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. The trustee has the right to remove items from the list before the auction at his discretion. Auctioneer Bob Ewald said online bidding also will be available through Proxibid, but I don't see any details on the Web site yet. Here are some photos of auction items.

Lot 189 on Proxbid is a painting of Lou's Mother, Reenie - who would have been so ashamed of her son.

Ok - the scariest lot here is lot 661 which is several realistic appearing Police badges (one appering to have a fake Police ID with Lou's picture) and several realistic cap guns.
What was Lou doing with these - impersonating cops?

you raise a good point. this whole mess is one not only for the law books, but also in my opinion, one for the psychology books as well. pearlman did have it all. so very much he gained, but he has shown that it wasn't enough. i guess absolute greed, like absolute power, corrupts absolutely. pearlman could have done some good for at least a few people, and not the ones in his inner circle either. yet, (opinion) he set-out to basically s---w everyone from the very beginning, it seems. will he ever admit to fault or show remorse? the only one who can answer that is pearlman himself. cheers to all!

Donnie, you are right (Sad, Sad)
All these "things" for an empty person. He had the ability to accomplish many of his goals, more than most could ever attain, even without stealing. In my opinion, it wasn't just greed that got the better of him, it was the challenge of putting something over on people, contempt for them, even jealousy for what others achieved and saved by normal means and their "genuine" relationships. He had no real attachments,so he thought everything anyone had was his for the taking. More than anything self-loathing lead to his inevitable self-destruction. I would like to see restitution for those who lost money. His actions disgust me,but I would love to see his genuine remorse, acknowledgement and some kind of enlightenment from him eventually. There are actually people capable of forgiveness. Unfortunately, I don't believe that will ever happen. There is something too deeply imbalanced within him.

I assume that this is not a real award but rather a certificate sent out by a Republican fundraising organization to thousands of donors in hopes of getting them to give even more money. I saw it on the auction list and was making a joke about the high level of interest. If it is a real award, I don't know anything about it.

That award is a simple piece of paper that the National party gives out to those who donate around $2,000.
The signature on there is certainly a stamp as the party likely sends out thousands of those in any given year.
Both parties do it to make the donor feel special.

Helen,
Since you brought it up, could you please tell us:
1) who bestowed this honor;
2) when was it bestowed; and,
3) on what basis?
Thank you.
P.S. Did you know about this award before the auction info was released?

The stuff I'd be interested in would probably be bid too high for my taste. Those pieces of Krell audio equipment are interesting. The funniest one related to all that was the box of remote controls. So if you buy the equipment but not the box of remotes, you might be a bit out of luck. I just wish there were pictures of this stuff. If there were, it would help me decide if I'd even want to think about bidding. Soneet might get a better price for the electronics on eBay than through this method.

Its amazing to see the amount of records the boy bands sold under Lou. This guy had the world by the &**^& but it was not enough .
Sad Sad

With all the posts suggesting that Lou's donations to the Republican cause were but a spit in the pot, you have to wonder what the criteria for getting such a prestigious award might be.
