Lou Pearlman dreams of TV shows and freedom

Sitting in jail for the last four months hasn't been a complete waste of time for Lou Pearlman. He came up with an idea for a new reality TV show while dreaming of getting out of jail. My story in today's Times offers some insight into Lou's life behind bars based on conversations Lou has had in recent weeks with his childhood friend, Alan Gross. Lou's TV show concept: "Second Chance," which would be hosted by a celebrity who's been to jail (like Paris Hilton) and feature losing contestants on other shows such as "American Idol." Lou is convinced, by the way, that he's going to get out on bond.

I recently visited Alan, who still lives in Mitchell Gardens apartments, where he and Lou grew up together in Flushing, N.Y. It was fascinating to see the treasure trove of documentation he has of that era and the time he and Lou spent together in the blimp business--he has reams of papers, photos and video recordings. Here's my story on Lou's earlier years and a slide show I narrated featuring many of Alan's photos. Alan and Lou parted ways in the late 80s and had numerous business disagreements. However, they stayed on friendly terms and Alan went to Lou's 50th birthday bash.

Yep Chamberlain was supposed to turn over the goods by the 22nd. Although, just because we haven't heard, it doesn't mean she hasn't turned them over.

It's also possible (according to the court order) that she could have been given an extension by the trustee.

Although I'm not sure how amenable Kapila would be to an extension.

Also, it would probably take a while for information she turned over to surface in the media.

I'd like to hear more about the allegations of Defrawy (Ayman Ahmed El-Difrawi is his real name)and credit card numbers. Rene Chamberlain mentioned in her deposition something about defrawy being escorted from the building at TCT due to an "accounting problem".

It's interesting that Model Search America uses the same business model as TCT, and has hired Defrawy, Kupa, Magnacca and others involved with Lou's modeling scam.

It would be interesting to see if Lou had his paws on MSA at any time.

That was one of my thoughts. I am already looking into how to contact them. There are a couple of places that I have checked with to see about donating the location for the event. Once that is approved then I will need to arrange for the entertainment to donate their time. If anyone knows how to contact any of these people let me know.

I have a career, multiple interests, and many wonderful friends. What constructive efforts have you made to help Pearlman's victims? I challenge you to find as much archived material about Pearlman's childhood and early career such as many more photos, documents, and videos (including video of Lou and his Mom). Why don't you get real?

I would suggest contacting some of the successful singers who gained their success with LJP's illicit funds and asking them to help by donating their time for a charity event or concert. Seems only fair as, if LJP didn't have access to the money he stole, these guys would not be rich and famous today.

After many considerations and several people urging me to do so, I have written a letter to Pearlman with several questions and a request for a visit. I would like to hear what he has to say for himself. My guess is, he will not respond to the letter and will refuse the visit. He knows I loathe him, however, if he does decide to respond and/or agree to a visit, I will most definately keep you informed. I am also looking into what can be done in the sense of some sort of fundraiser, with the monies going to the investors only. If anyone has any ideas or have any people they know would be willing to offer their services in helping to put something together they can contact me at kim_ridge123@yahoo.com.

Just a quick post to let you know that after much consideration, I am going to send Lou a letter and see what happens. If people want to get in touch with me, please let Helen know how I can reach you.

I never met Lance Bass but had 3 encounters with the BackStreet Boys. I saw them rehearsing in the Kissimmee warehouse while rummaging through some of the blimp stuff. I escorted Frankie's Mom to a concert on Long Island, and finally I had a brief chat with Howie D at Lou's 50th birthday party. My personal musical tastes run toward the 60's and early 70's era.

I have been busy but I'll try to post now and then. I hope my contributions are helpful and my goal is to maintain awareness of the victims' plight in all of this. The pedophilia charges are disturbing and diverting attention from other important aspects to this scandal.
