Lou's story is going Hollywood
Laura Dunn says pre-production work is underway on a feature film about Lou Pearlman's life. There's no title yet and she says she can't discuss the details, but the movie most likely will be released in 2009. "We have a lot of Hollywood money behind it...some very big names in Hollywood." Laura, who is one of the producers, says she bought the rights to Lou's life story three years ago when they were working together on a reality show. She's not saying what she paid, but she said she thought it was an interesting story: "Here's an aviation mogul getting rich off boy bands. It was just a fluke interesting story. Then it got to be really interesting." Laura lives in LA and her daughter dates one of the members of Before 4, one of Lou's boy bands.
How can anybody own the rights to the life story of a public figure? I asked entertainment lawyer Fred Bernstein, who represents Laura, about that. He says that even public figures have and can sell the rights to private parts of their life stories. Of course there can be touchy issues regarding what's private and what isn't. "It gets complex when you have people who engage in public interviews," he said. "Once it's disclosed, it's in the marketplace. But there's a whole lot about Lou Pearlman that we as the public don't know." He said that once someone has been charged with a crime, information that has a reasonable relationship to the offense is no longer private. In addition, he said there are distinctions between reporting information about a person and using that information commercially, such as in a movie. "What Laura has done is developed a wonderful take on how to tell Lou's story without it being limited by deciding if he is a good guy or a bad guy," he said.

I challenge the investors to show us what victims of scams they assisted before Lou ripped them off.

Seems like the person below (5:41, 7:34), talking about "hiding like a coward" is afraid of putting a name with THEIR posts.

The lawsuit also name Les Henderson, Danny B Scalf and Jeremy Scalf (who post as Frank Torelli). The lawsuit was filed in federal court and alleges a host of things but the interesting part is it accuses the group of RICO (Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations).

Can't wait until he is in the general population with his fellow criminals. He can eat and sleep with them. Wait until they find out he has millions hidden. What gang will he join?

Not Kim,
Truth is an absolute defense against claims of defamation. I hope you guys try to sue the Washington Post who declared you the most successful phishing operation they had ever seen. Their lawyers will eat AF for breakfast.
And hey, I love the fact that you're legal escapades are just shedding more light on your activities.
I can't wait till you bring someone to court and you have to testify about such things as why an honest businessman uses so many aliases.

What makes him special is that he was a mogul without allegedly stealing from everyone
Posted by: | November 23, 2007 at 01:14 PM
What does a woman 20 years younger than Pearlman see in him? No reason he should not be sharing his cell with another inmate. What makes him so special?

When was the last time you heard Bill Gates or Warren Buffett were taking out a loan? lol!
Posted by: | November 23, 2007 at 01:01 AM
Hey!
Did nobody think it odd that a billionaire was trying to borrow here there and everywhere, sums of money far less than $1b?
That he was harrassing Orlando City Council over a few measly mil for his silly little Church Street pet project? Threatening to sue, etc.
If I was a billionaire, I wouldn't need tax breaks for construction projects.
The signs were there for the conscientious citizens.

I can't wait for him to be in the general inmate section of jail. Bubba will show him a thing or two.

Just give me one more opportunity to hug fatso.

Pearlman always was a sicko. Never was legitimate. Only hired incompetent buffoons. He should have been caught after 1 year, like most others who run Ponzi schemes. Why would anyone do this? Is prison worth the price? How can you borrow millions from banks, not expect to pay them back, and expect not to spend years in jail? Your friends all want to spend about 30 minutes with you again big Lou.

free big poppa

As we celebrate Thanksgiving with our family and friends we should all hope that Pearlman chokes on a drumstick while he thinks about all the rotten things he did. He and his cohorts are rotten to the core.

Truthful but negative. Show me one that is truthful. Defamation law is still applicable to posters.

Not Kim,
Who do you think broke the law and how?
It interesting to consider the abuse of the legal system by guys like AD who sick their lawyer buddy AF on bloggers, threatening to sue them until they remove truthful but negative posts.
Lawyer or not, there are a lot of people who would love to see those gentlemen share a cell in the grey-bar hotel. They love child abusers up in there. Those guys will make nice prison brides for Bubba and teh boys.

To break the law to expose scammers is illegal. the law applies to all.

Remember those calls from Mandy in late Dec. 06 and Jan. 07 when she said Lou was traveling and busy working on "stuff" Did she know something? Only time will tell. Does anyone have insight into this or a similar experience.
