Lou Pearlman one year later
In today's Times I offer a look back and a look forward in the Lou Pearlman saga. So much information has come out in bits and pieces and much of it has been published only here on the blog, not in the newspaper, that I thought it was a good time to sum things up.
Here's my summary of what happens next:
Pearlman's trial is set for March, but likely will be postponed. He also could work out a plea agreement with prosecutors.
More indictments are expected for Pearlman, some of his close associates and possibly some agents who sold the scam investments.
The search continues for assets that might be used to repay creditors.
Lawsuits will be pursued against some of the people and companies that received money Pearlman took from investors and banks.

St. Petersburg Times personal finance editor Helen Huntley writes about money topics and answers questions about financial planning, investments and personal income taxes.

Unless I hear more examples of his bombastic exaggerations, it seems that Lou was not even as outrageous as this guy.

Charlie are you GAY?....the room was silenced as for reasons you may have known or guessed. Let's connect that to Lou's inexplicitly not being charged by the AG's office or any office as far as that goes for his "Crimes of persuasion"....Lou was a genius at conning people and I wonder just what he has on you know who...Its a sick world filled with SICK people In trouble or not in trouble....

Pearlman, after almost a year running and being jailed, has shown himself to be a hardened and crass criminal of the worst twisted sort. His is a story of evil and corruption that stole his and everyones associated with his crimes, their souls. He is no longer human, he could have done much by now to show us otherwise. Those responsable for letting this evil exist for all those years, on their watch, should be held accountable.

If it is not appropriate to speculate by name can we speculate by what type of service provided. We can make a game show out of it. Here are sample qustons:
1) knowledge of where the money was going.......(In trouble or Out of Troble)
2) Helped sell the stuff without disclosing the dirty side to investors.
(In Trouble or Out of Trouble)
3) Took money knowing where it came from and spent it.
(in trouble or out of trouble)
4) helped hid the money in different companys........(in or out of trouble)
Maybe someone can add to the game....

9:08-It is not appropriate to speculate by name on who might be arrested. The investigation covers people who were in a position to know about the schemes or who sold the investments. The evidence collected will determine which of them will actually be prosecuted. As far as "when" goes, the answer is that it's likely to be sometime in 2008.
Government investigations take a long time. Helen

It was more fun when A. Incognito Johnson was on the run.
