I'm wrangling some passes to advance screenings of a couple new movies, with the notion of giving them to my blog visitors somehow. Nothing set in stone yet but if you're a fan of boy wizards or Edith Piaf this should be your homepage for a while. More "stuff" will come to light if that works. That's up to you.
Interested? Let me know before I use up my limited goodwill with studios to get the tix.
What upcoming movies would you like to see for free? Tell me and I'll work on it. No guarantees.
Just be quiet if you're sitting near me, unlike the crowd that radio stations and grapevines usually bring. Free movies don't make the theater anymore like your living room. Talk and answer cell phones later.
If it works, we'll start a movement.
Steve Persall is the movie critic for the St. Petersburg Times. He was conceived behind a drive-in movie theater his father operated and raised in projection booths and concession stands. He doesn't care how you did it up north.
Mr. Persall, I would love to see some advanced screenings. I am actually a journalism student at the USF Saint Petersburg campus. I have written some film reviews for the school paper, and would love to see some of the movies you are alluding to. I would love to see Harry Potter as well as Transformers. If you can only spare one ticket, that is fine, but two would be great. :)

Thanks, everyone. Looks like I'll have a post early next week for passes to see La Vie en Rose at Tampa Theatre. Just have to get the final info (date, time, etc.) worked out. Harry Potter is looking like a go but haven't gotten the confirm yet. Watch the skies.

My family and I just saw the prescreening for Transformers last night and it was such a wonderful experience for all! I have 3 boys who are Harry Potter Fanatics! I heard last night they were going to be given out on July 3rd at a hobby shop somewhere in Tampa.....DOnt know exactly where or what time???? would love all the help I could get with this or even possibly get tickets through your contest? there are 5 of us...Let me know...Hopefully this information can be helpful! Steve, are there any screenings for Hairspray in the area before it premieres? I have been looking online and everywhere to find out if there are and where to get tickets. Just read your blog on the movie and it still catches my eye for a good movie this summer.
