New stop light is big news
After months of sitting idle, covered in cloth, the traffic lights at Tampa Palms Boulevard at Commerce Boulevard went live. City officals sent out a bulletin to all local media outlets today to make sure residents were informed.
The light should help control traffic heading to and from the brand new New Tampa Recreation Center, as well as Freedom High and Liberty Middle schools. Gas tax funds to the tune of $125, 000 paid for the signal, which was turned on this morning during school hours. Engineers reported that the light was fully functional.

Finally! That light should have been installed when those two schools were built! Getting out of there was a nightmare not only at drop off and dismissal but also when USAA was getting off. Somebody was finally thinking.
