T.G.I. Friday's to open this evening

T.G.I. Friday's, which replaced the Bennigans restaurant in Highwoods Preserve, is set to open its doors for the first time in New Tampa at 5 p.m. today.

The restaurant is located at 18001 Highwoods Preserve Pkwy. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday; 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Call (813) 971-2769 for more information.

Summer training for cross country

Freedom High Cross Country coaches are providing summer practices for those interested in participating in boys and girls Cross Country in the fall.

Practices are at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Saturdays.

Build a good base by running during the summer - it helps significantly towards doing well during the season. These are not mandatory for participation in the fall season, but provide lots of fun and camaraderie and good motivation to keep on running.
