*UPDATE* - PPT out?

**THE PPT IS NOT DEAD** Here is a response I received to this posting**

Saw your blog about the PPT and the LV Advisor made a mis-print. The PPT has not been cancelled by the Travel Channel. For season two, we’ve not yet announced a distribution partner and have not yet announced a plan.

The Las Vegas Advisor is reporting that the Travel Channel has pulled the plug on the Professional Poker Tour. TC's Web site is still promoting it, but I've noticed it's no longer on my Tivo schedule. Also, LVA has a funny list of the top 10 gripes players have about the "changes" at the World Series of Poker. I won't violate their copyright by reprinting it here, but all regular visitors should already be subscribers of this great newsletter at lasvegasadvisor.com.

It is still on my tivo list, Why would they want to pull it? I suspect Congress has something to do with it. Saving us from ourselves. Thank God for them.

I could be wrong, but I thought travel channel was going to show all 5 of the season one tourneys, but then did not exercise their option to pick up season 2, so right now the whole PPT is in limbo because they have no TV deal for a second season.

I'd hate to see it go. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Seif go! It's a great concept and needs to be picked up and woven into something great.

That's a shame if it isn't renewed. I liked the format of the show 5 2hr. episodes per tournement shows you at least some "real" poker. Lots of play when blinds are low. I thought the hosts were awful, both Matt Corboy and Mark Seif made the show more difficult to watch.

Viva la PPT!

Matt Corboy is a complete clown. I had to turn it off because of him.

Just catching up on my AnteUp! shows and was able to listen to a bunch as I cut the grass this past weekend... They "rescheduled" the first PPT at the Borgata for season II... Got an email last week about it. It was supposed to be the second week of Sept, 11th and 12th. So the first event will be up in Foxwoods on Nov 7th - 8th. I'll be there and will be playing in it, should be pretty exciting. Also looking forward to checking out the new room there. I actually may be making a trip up in Oct to play in some Acts and try for a seat to the WPT Finals.

About This Blog

Christopher Cosenza is co-host of the longest running poker podcast on the planet, Ante Up! He started playing poker seriously in 2003 and his favorite players are Phil Ivey and Kenna James, though he tends to act like Phil Hellmuth if you make a bad play against him.

Scott Long, Ante Up!'s other co-host, is the author of the monthly Bet on It column in tbt*. He began gambling way too young (don't tell the fuzz!) and in the seventh grade, named his state "Gambleland" for a school project (State Animal? Loan shark, of course).
