Podcasts dropping like flies
In the span of about 45 minutes I found out that All In with Brian Mollica and The Circuit with Scott Huff, Gavin Smith and Joe Sebok are calling it quits. What the hell is going on here? First Lord Admiral closes up shop and then two of the bigger, better shows end just like that. Are we next?
Joe Sebok, who was on our show a while back, post this on his pokerpages.com blog. And you can read what Brian sent out in an email here.
Not sure what will happen next, but I just want to assure everyone that Ante Up! is going strong. Maybe Sirius Radio will want us now?

Christopher Cosenza is co-host of the longest running poker podcast on the planet, Ante Up! He started playing poker seriously in 2003 and his favorite players are Phil Ivey and Kenna James, though he tends to act like Phil Hellmuth if you make a bad play against him.
Scott Long, Ante Up!'s other co-host, is the author of the monthly Bet on It column in tbt*. He began gambling way too young (don't tell the fuzz!) and in the seventh grade, named his state "Gambleland" for a school project (State Animal? Loan shark, of course).

WOW!! Unreal, going to miss the Circuit. MSR see ya!!! You guys are making the competition give up. Just make sure that you guys aren't going anywhere, that would truly suck.

We'll do our best my good friend! I'm trying to contact Sirius right now! If anyone has an inside contact there let me know!!!

Have you listened to those podcasts?... They aren't that good.
Quality matters, if you are going to be listening to somebody talk for 1 hour it better be good.
You guys are the best so don't worry...

Thanks Luire, we try our best. Hopefully someone will take notice, like XM or Sirius or CardPlayer (I've emailed all three) to tell them we are available to be picked up.

Interesting that there is nothing on the CardPlayer website. They still list the next broadcast to be in December.
If you guys got picked up by Satelite don't you wonder if TBT would consider it a conflict? Or, start 'charging' you for studio usage? You know how it goes sometimes. Its cool if you are non-profit but, as soon as you start to make a buck everything 'changes'. Companies get funny about stuff like this. For example. A friend of mine used to umpire local baseball games for a few bucks. He started working for a big firm and it was against their policy for him to do this for profit. So, to continue, he had to do so free of charge or quit.

You make an interesting point, oh, anonymous poster, but I think this is merely me with a pipe dream. As for there being a conflict with the Times/tbt* that's couldn't be the case. We wouldn't be working for the satellite company, they would just carry our show. Just like The Circuit's show was on CardPlayer's site and also on Sirius. Don't worry, we won't compromise anything if that were to ever happen, and I'm not holding my breath, just having some fun.

I don't think its a long shot pipe dream. You never know. 'Ante Up' has quality substance (understatement) and seems to be gathering momentum. I only pointed out the infamous 'conflict' because of what I've seen with my umpire friend. I'm really looking forward to this weeks guest Joe Navarro. Also, I heard there was a Fasso sighting in Atlanta Saturday/Sunday for the Nascar race. Maybe thats the real reason he missed Saturdays Horse tourney! (Joking)

WOW no offense guys, but The Circuit is and always has been a great podcast. If it goes it'll be a sad thing. I wasn't a listener of All In or Lord Admiral so I can't say there.

I'm sure the Circuit will be back with a different host. It gets a ton of downloads and I bet it has sold a few magazine scripts.
Don't you think before AnteUp is picked up by XM, Sirus, etc. It would need to prove it could sell advertising, which will be more challenge with the current legal enviroment.
I think you could get Full Tilt on board. Nevada Bob's?

Didn't get a chance to listen to the Sirius broadcast of the WSOP, but heard it was pretty good. Agree that the Circuit will prob be back, perhaps will Richard Belsky as the host... Their tourney coverage is pretty good.
As far as MSR, there will be a new host, I'm sure. Someone on the board will step up. I listen to most poker podcasts and have been active there in the past, here as well. Wish Brian the best!

Damn, I was in love with the Circuit. It was like my Thora next to my Bible that is called Ante Up! :( I will miss it dearly...

I am fairly sure that MySportsRadio will replace All-In with Brian Mollica with another poker podcast of a different name. It was successful not just as a podcast but also as a message board. I was a fan of the podcast becuase of the different slant on poker. I listen to different poker podcasts for different reasons since each one has its own way of doing things.
The same is true with The Circuit. I would be shocked if someone doesnt take that podcast from here. Bluff Magazine has a podcast and I am sure Card Player will not be outdone.

I think maybe some Italian relations to the Ante Up hosts sent some guys to make an offer the competition couldn't refuse. You guys really didn't need to stoop to such levels. You have a quality product and we'll keep listening, without threats of broken kneecaps :)

That was my dad. He can't let go of the old days when he ruled southern Connecticut with an iron fist.
