AIPS II, Event #10 Champion: predator06
Congratulations to predator06, who wins the 10th AIPS II banana as champion of the Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event, which drew 88 entrants.
predator06 won the last hand against yzerman13 with a, um, King-high straight flush (don't get Chris started on RCGs). Congrats to the entire final table, who did much, much better than our boutied, who had their collective worst finish in AIPS history.
Bounties go to:
- Joe24Pa (Chris "willhopper" 55th place)
- Mr Mike77 & spinn1 (Scott "OffDeadline" 59th place)
- predator06 (Columbo "columbo" 69th place)
- ErsatzSantiag0 (Fasso "stpetebeach" 71st place)
NEXT EVENT: HORSE, Thursday, Nov. 15, 9 p.m. Eastern

Christopher Cosenza is co-host of the longest running poker podcast on the planet, Ante Up! He started playing poker seriously in 2003 and his favorite players are Phil Ivey and Kenna James, though he tends to act like Phil Hellmuth if you make a bad play against him.
Scott Long, Ante Up!'s other co-host, is the author of the monthly Bet on It column in tbt*. He began gambling way too young (don't tell the fuzz!) and in the seventh grade, named his state "Gambleland" for a school project (State Animal? Loan shark, of course).

Chris´ name was whispered more than once. I folded a hand were, hadn´t I done so, would have seen my king high flush losing to a queen high straight flush. And I saw flopped quad aces.
I myself was hanging in there in the lower half or even lower third of the stacks. Within 10 minutes I was quartered and had to regroup. Near the end, with less than 20 players left I went to double up and back down to less than half in 2 hands. I had potential to come in second but 2 serious and about 4 minor mistakes took that out of my hands.
I ended 4th for my first AIPS final table, first AIPS points and first AIPS cash. Yzerman13 got my bounty.
After it ended I had to hurry up and go to work.
It was fun.

Darn typepad to heck. I was logged on!
Anyway, it was me, Erwin ´eblonk´ Blonk.
Posted by: | October 26, 2007 at 02:16 AM
Yes, that was my straight flush and I got no action on it. Erwin what are you doing laying down a suited K preflop???? :-)
Posted by: JLBSox | October 26, 2007 at 07:37 AM
suited K ain´t no nuts: no nuts, no glory in Omaha.
And in O8 it isn´t worth anything for the low. I can´t remember my other cards but it probably wasn´t much for the low side.

You can all blame me.
I told Predator about this event. He's a PLO8 and NLO8 whiz. He tears up the high limit cash games!
I meant to register but somehow forgot to click the circle next to the buyin but put in the password. D'oh!

Which just means I´ll be hunting for Predator... some day :D
I´m glad you brought him in, I love Omaha and PLO8 best of all. So good players are always welcome as far as I´m concerned.

And again that was me, Erwin, logged on and all and typekey crapping all over me :(

Pred, if you're reading this send me your address so I can mail you a priceless piece of plastic fruit! Or Zooks, find him and tell him for me. Thanks!

If anyone ever wants to watch what a true expert high-stakes Omaha player can do, add Pred to your buddies list and check him out sometime. It's very cool to have him hanging' around fulltiltforum.com.
Zooks should be ashamed of herself for sic-ing Pred on The Nation. At the least she should have put a bounty on him or something... no, wait, that would be like blood in the water to that shark. nvm.

LOL, Zerb!
Chris, we've told him to send you his info.
Still waiting to get my finder's fee...:)

Sorry I missed it. The family is fighting off the flu and a teething clogged nosed baby is not good for the poker game, so I had to miss it. While not in Eblonk's range I do enjoy a game of O8. Glad Erwin made the fianl table.

hello all,
made it to the final table with predator. He does know the game very well, he played the big stack to perfection at the bubble stealing at least 15K but he also caught the cards at times. I went out 5th against him and another allin player. I reiased an allin with A2Q10 double suited, he called both of us with A269 and beat us both when he hit two pair with 6&9. He is a deserving champion....but i saw him get in in bad many times and get lucky, but that is a very big part of omaha....your never a big dog preflop. Had fun, cant wait till HORSE
