AIPS III Event #4 Champion: theron74

Congratulations to theron74, who wins the fourth AIPS III banana as champion of the Pot-Limit Omaha event, which drew 72 entrants.

theron74 won an epic heads-up battle against Iceland's DrPepperIce, who was playing in his first AIPS events, when his flopped set of deuces improved to quads on the turn. Congrats to everyone who made the final table!

Just-for-recognition bounties go to:

  • Mickey Jay (Scott "OffDeadline" 12th place)
  • OffDeadline (Fasso "stpetebeach" 21st place - the dunderhead didn't really play, just forgot to unregister and darn near made the money - until he ran into me)
  • Zerkaboid (Chris "willhopper" 65th place)
  • (columbo DNP)

NEXT EVENT: No-Limit Hold'em with Rebuys, Thursday, May 22, 9 p.m. Eastern

WOW......what a great tourney by all. This was one of those tourneys where I played every character: Short stack, idiot, chip leader, you name it. Want to thank DRpepperice....I lost my connection heads up and he waited on me to get it back and at that point he had a 4/1 chip lead. By the way...i played the 1st level thinking the was PLO8....that was my idiot part of the tourney. So, thanks for whoever told me it was OMAHA HI. Can't wait for the bannana!!!! Thanks for teh great pod cast and great group of listeners....ANTE UP NATION ROCKS....

Congrats on your banana theron74. I should have blinded you out when I had the chance ;)

It was fantastic finally playing in an AIPS event and I couldn't believe when I found myself being the chipleader and getting to heads-up because I almost never play Omaha, let alone Limit. Theron74 played really aggressive heads-up and deserves the first place. You can count on me playing in more AIPS events from now on.

Thanks to Chris and Scott for your great podcasts - without it there would be no AIPS!

Wow, Theron!! Nice comeback!!! Congrats to everyone!!

Pot limit Omaha is an evil game. I busted out with AcTcAsKs against a single suited pair of kings. The suits were the same as my aces, so just about the only thing that could save my opponent was the single king left in the deck. I was a 4-1 favorite. Guess what came in the flop? There is one RCG that better stays out of my way for a while if it knows what's good for it.

So, back to the PLO tables for me.

Theron ran into me online earlier in the week and told me how disappointed he was he couldn't play AIPS on Thursday. I said, "Thursday? It's on Saturday." He said he was glad he asked, because Saturday was good for him. Congrats on the banana.

On the other hand I pulled a real dumb move, forgetting I had registered. Did I play too tight? On the plus side I saw La Fille du Regiment from the Met in HD. Great! Happy to have juiced the prize pool (and outlasted Chris).

Let's see if you're saying that on May 10!

Five bucks on Fasso.

Oops, my bad, I thought he referred to event 5. I'll go with Fasso on both.
