Idol Notes: Night 2
It took three hours (and a day and a half of programming), but at 9:01 p.m. last night, American Idol finally gave us someone to root for: the Indian-American bro-sis combo, who were like a Bollywood version of Donny & Marie. They're a great storyline. Anyway, here's my rambling notes on last night's Idol, which was much better than the premiere, if only because they gave us a scattering of legit talent among the freaks.
Did the "Hotness" used to be a man?...Seriously, this show needs a bodyguard to move the lame-o's along....Where are all the talented people?....Too many dorks....Why is everyone crying?....Paula seems more lucid, Randy seems more surly....GOOD LORD, THE BLONDE BROAD ISN'T WEARING A BRA!!!!....Mark my words: Zitzmann will show up again on the season finale....Ryan Seacrest is a funny dude. Probably an a-hole off-camera, but damn funny when the tape is rolling...."Bush baby": Marty Feldman....I like the tall girl. She's gonna do well.

Sean Daly is the pop music critic for the St. Petersburg Times. His CD collection -- from Journey to Dylan, Prince to U2, Public Enemy to Stan Getz -- is much bigger and better than yours.
Wifey said exactly the same thing with the Indian couple (Donny and Marie).
I was singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", when the blonde came walking out and saw she had no bra.
Red, at the end, scared me and I know I've seen him in a nightmare before.
Loved the "Monkey Man" and his "portly" friend (he could use a few laps around the loop playing his iPod).
I don't think the Amazon will get too far, but she was one of the few "interesting" characters that advanced.
The 21 year-old with the 'fro will be in the final 10. He was smooth.
Zitzman and William Hung will hook up for a duet.
Ryan Seacrest is hilarious--just the looks he gives the people are priceless, but he is also trying to goad the singers into busting on Simon! Great night of viewing!

Thought that the 16 y.o. daughter of Philippi Sparks actually had the best pipes - I'm giving her a place in the Top 12.
Liked "Donny and Marie", they seemed to have a great chemistry with each other -- almost to the point of making me uncomfortable.
I've seen Red before - on the campus of Bloomsburg University, where he's a tree farmer in his spare time.
Did the chubby guy remind anyone else of a young John Candy?
