Hurricane Mix: NEED HELP!
Hey Gang: I've been asked to put together a playlist for the start of hurricane season. So let's hear some chatter out there. Don't think preparedness so much -- think hunkering down, mixing rum drinks and cranking thematic, possibly ironic party tunes until the weather passes.
Here's what I have so far:
Summer Wind -- Frank Sinatra
Tryin' to Reason With the Hurricane Season -- Jimmy Buffett
Bring Tha Noize -- Anthrax & Public Enemy
Shaking the Tree -- Peter Gabriel
All Things Must Pass -- George Harrison
Brick House -- the Commodores

Sean Daly is the pop music critic for the St. Petersburg Times. His CD collection -- from Journey to Dylan, Prince to U2, Public Enemy to Stan Getz -- is much bigger and better than yours.
You must have Hurricane Party by Cowboy Mouth in your mix. It was written about a real party held in New Orleans during Hurricane Andrew. Wild time....
To slow things down a bit, The Avenue, also by Cowboy Mouth. A lovely tribute to the city after Katrina...

Pretty damn quick, KJW. I'm taking "Trapped" and "Full Force Gale." Thanks.
I originally had Cat Stevens, but I doinked him. For a mellow song, I'm going with "All Things Must Pass."

Hey, Daly
How about Shelter from the Storm by Dylan, Ridin' the Storm Out by REO Speedwagon, Like a Hurricane by Neil Young, Dance to the Storm by the Hothouse Flowers, and Bad Moon Rising by Creedence, and Fogerty, again, (solo this time) for Walking in A Hurricane.
