Questions for REO Speedwagon?
Okay, a little random today. But my chunky-but-funky Stuck in the '80s co-host Steve Spears and I are interviewing REO Speedwagon lead singer Kevin Cronin. And we need a little help.
At the very least, does anyone have any good stories involving nudity, a six-pack of Schlitz and Keep on Lovin' You?

Sean Daly is the pop music critic for the St. Petersburg Times. His CD collection -- from Journey to Dylan, Prince to U2, Public Enemy to Stan Getz -- is much bigger and better than yours.
Do you like playing smaller venues or larger ones? And do you still ride around in the REO firetruck?

I think you should ask him what his favorite Huey Lewis song is.

Do they ever play "In My Dreams" in concert?
Any hope for a reconciliation with Gary Richrath?

Sean,
Love the Speedwagon...one thing I've been curious about over the years is why did the rest of the band nickname Can't Find This Feeling "that stupid ballad" during it's conception? I remember reading that in a Rolling Stone article back in the day...
Also, what are Gary Richrath and Alan Gratzer (the original drummer) up to nowadays?

Keep On Lovin' You, Time for me to Fly, etc.. all remind me of my dateless years in high school. I helped decorate the gym for homecoming (oddly themed after Time for me to Fly) and sat home ::sniffle:: alone while all the other kids danced, had pictures taken, exchanged corsages and sipped spiked punch.

Besides being great songs to sing your lungs out to, it never failed that at the end of a waning relationship, "Time For Me to Fly" would play and give me a sign to confirm the end.
In 1985, Hurricane Elana came very close to St. Pete and we had mandatory evacuations. Of course, 'Riding the Storm Out" was on the radio!
