Gonna go?
Britney Spears performs at the Forum on March 8. Will you be there?
Yes! She's still the bomb.
No! I don't do train wrecks.
Oops, I'll be in rehab that day.

Join Me In a Royal Rumble?

Hey Cool Kids! This Wednesday, I'll be at Jannus Landing in downtown St. Pete at a killer triple bill: Louis XIV (San Diego glam-rock revivalists), Hot Hot Heat (jaunty Canadian indies) and the Editors (dour British postpunkers). I'm more into the first two, but the Editors have the buzz of a great live band, so we'll see.

Anyway, if you want a taste of each before making a commitment (although really now, you get to spend quality time with me -- doesn't that count for something?), here are a few tasty links:

For Hot Hot Heat, click here.

For the Editors, click here.

And for Louis XIV, watch this right here...

Dang it! Just one more reason I hate that I live in Illinois. I wanna party-throw down with SD! I'm going into a depression stupor.

Louis XIV! I saw them perform this song on Conan and subsequently had it on heavy rotation in the car. It was a great one to listen to in the school car line.

Looks like a great bill -- if only I had a babysitter, I'd be there. Love concerts at Jannus -- although I haven't been to one in years.

Ladies, ladies, ladies -- just the thought of being sandwiched between you at that show makes me all funny inside. Wish you could be there.

By the way, for you locals, tix are only $18. A steal.

Hmm a Sean Daly sammich... it might just be a reversal of the Butabi Brothers on SNL

Eighteen bucks? That's quite a steal -- and it's not dreadful horrible hot right now, so the outdoor venue would be really nice. I'd even spring for the post-concert drinks at the Garden. Drat not having a babysitter...

However -- I did see where the Go-Gos are coming in Feb... might need to line up a sitter for that one in advance.

By the way, if you're out there, Carla...Thanks for the Bryan Adams CD. Quite awesome.

The Editors are pretty good Sean. They had a free tune on i tunes a few months back that I downloaded, and it lead me to check out some of their other stuff.

I saw Louis XIV open up for the Killers at the Sun Dome a couple years back and I thought they were better than the headliner.

It was one of the few instances I've bought a band's CD at one of the shows.

I saw that show, too, DG. Clad only in shaving cream and a sex prop, Louis XIV (or at least one of 'em) streaked the stage during the Killers set, totally breaking up Brandon Flowers.
