She's gonna be somebody's baby

Times pop music critic Sean Daly is a proud new father of a baby daughter.

Sean just called to say his family's new addition was born today at 7:29 a.m. and weighs 7 pounds, 8 ounces. She's 20 inches long. The baby and mother are doing great.

And who wins the sweepstakes for the name? It's a push! There still is no official name, Sean says! Although, people in the delivery room were calling her "Maya Rose."

But here's the best part: It turns out Baby Maya is going to be an '80s baby. Sean says that as he was carrying the newborn to the nursery, Journey's "Faithfully" was playing nice and loud. Then came "Jump" by Van Halen. Then "Mysterious Ways" by U2 and finally .... "Relax" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

Sean sang along to each tune, thus ensuring his new daughter is just as much stuck in the '80s as her old man.

Awe. Congratulations FF, Sean and Big Sis Lulu. Maya Rose has a poetic ring to it. It gets my vote.
Wow! I wish I had something more profound to say. Beautiful.

Outstanding!

Tell Sean to hold on to this morning, because no matter where he goes or what he does, when he's really up against it, the memory of holding his newborn child in his arms will get him through.

All the best from the whole "in Cuba" family to Sean and his three girls.

Maya Rose is a truly beautiful name, stick with that one! Congrats to the whole Daly crew, and the plethora of 80's tunes is clearly a good omen.

Congratulations to Sean, FF, and Kid Lulu, on the addition to their family!

Congrats to the Daly crew. Nice to see he's going to pull this poor, innocent child into his twisted time machine. On planet Daly, it's always 1986. Go West blares ad nauseum, "Fletch" runs 24 hours a day on the TV and Members Only jackets are the required uni. I'll say a silent prayer for the poor kid's soul.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Good job Dad! From my family to yours, may your FF be healthy and recovering and baby Maya kicking and screaming! And Maya, I couldn't have picked a more beautiful name.

All the love,

Martinez Family in Austin

The best days are indeed the days when babies are born -- and this zooms to the top of the list. Best news of all: mother and daughter are doing well. Can't ask for more than that.

Congrats to the entire Family Daly!

Congratulations, Sean - great news for a great guy.

All the best to you and your freshly-expanded family.

Big ups to the proud new parents. Make sure to give Lulu plenty of attention, too.

DIDN'T KNOW WHERE ELSE TO POST THIS, SEAN:
