In Case You Missed It...

Here's Amy Winehouse's performance from the Grammys last night. Via satellite from London, where it was 3 a.m. (By the way, what in the hell was Cuba Gooding Jr. doing there?) Not a great set from Wino, but not the train wreck you expected (and probably kinda wished for).

What a great message to send to the not-so-little kiddies out there..."do a bunch of drugs and you too can be celebrated." What a joke!!!!

...I had to stop it 1:04 in, because her facial expressions made me want to punch a baby. I don't think I'd ever seen her perform live before; why does she sing out of the left side of her face? Did she have a crack-induced stroke or something? Whuh.

This is truly a testament to the magic that can be done in a recording studio.

When you go live, the real talent (or lack thereof) comes out.
This isn't music, it's marketing.
The same could be said of Kanye West. He needs to stick to simplistic poetry and leave the singing to those who can.

If I want 60's R&B, I'll stick with women who can really sing.
Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin come to mind.
