"Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution"
Here's your weekend kickoff song, the Black Crowes' "Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution," from their new album "Warpaint." This cut was obviously birthed from the sweet-sour blood of the Stones' "Sticky Fingers." Crank it up at 5:01 today. Or, you know, 4:20.

Sean Daly is the pop music critic for the St. Petersburg Times. His CD collection -- from Journey to Dylan, Prince to U2, Public Enemy to Stan Getz -- is much bigger and better than yours.
THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers rock Tampa Bay. To hear the latest "Stuck in the 80s" episode now,
Forget 4:20 -- I'm cranking it up now. Just had an early St Pat's Day lunch (complete with a pint of green beer) so the weekend's already underway as far as I'm concerned.
Totally hear the influence of "Sticky Fingers" on this one -- I'm diggin' it.

That chorus makes me want to weep tears of joy. Good to have these dudes back.

NO kidding -- I just downloaded the entire album and it's playing now -- perfect Friday afternoon music. I'd forgotten how much I like this band.

I've always loved the Crowes, and this album is blessedly good. I had low expectations after that whole "New Earth Mud" fiasco. What a train wreck that thing was. It's good to have the Crowes back...they sound like they never left.

Perhaps the key to them sounding great was having a Kate-free Chris afterall.
By the way, I hate being a late commenter. UGH! It seems that I miss the time slots when Sean and Steve are freed up to be chatty. Such is life.

Listened to this twice through already. It's good -- they are back to form. Great kick-back, beer drinking music.

This is a damn good tune. The track "Oh Josephine" is beautiful as well. There's not much filler on the album.
