Gonna go?
Britney Spears performs at the Forum on March 8. Will you be there?
Yes! She's still the bomb.
No! I don't do train wrecks.
Oops, I'll be in rehab that day.

E Street Band Loses a Friend

Dannybrucens3_2

Longtime E Street Band organist and then some Danny Federici died Thursday after a three-year battle with melanoma.

He was 58.

Bruce Springsteen and his band are in Florida this week, but shows in Sunrise and Orlando have been postponed. A Tampa date on Monday, April 21 is scheduled to be the band's first show back.

No makeup dates have been announced for the postponed shows.

For more information, and video of Federici sitting in with the band during a special March 20 appearance in Indianapolis, go to brucespringsteen.net.

Very sad news.

I have tickets for the 3 Florida shows. Will you post information on any rescheduling of the postponed shows when you know?

Thanks for the link to Sandy. Nuff said.

Absolutely, DG. As soon as I find out about rescheduled dates, I'll let you guys know.

Very sad. Peaceful thoughts to the E Street Band and all Danny's family and friends.

"I got dust on my shoes,
Nothing but teardrops."

Very sad news. I have had the pleasure of seeing The E Street band with Danny several times. He was a fantastic musician, and whenever I saw him interviewed, he seemed to be a very personable guy. I always enjoyed seeing Danny come out from behind the keyboards with his accordion. He will be missed greatly. My prayers are with his family and friends.

SO sad and the boss just back obama.

I know a lot of folks like Bruce and E-Street, but I never thought he was that good. Kinda like like ZZ-Top. Record a song and change the words to it for 20 years. Well, what do you expect from New Jersey.

I am a BIG fan..my condolences go out to the Federice family and the E-Street family.God Bless!

I caught his last full concert appearance last November in Boston; the outpouring of love for Danny was palpable throughout the show. Bruce gave Danny several turns in the spotlight by including songs like Sandy and appeared to leave an opening for an additional song after tour show-closer American Land. Danny, true to his nature, passed on the opportunity to extend the farewell, but there wasn't a dry eye in the house as he walked off the stage.

What a loss.
